I don't know if anyone can help, but I am trying to complete the Shrine of Courtesy part of the Pilgrim's Path in Tribunal.

I've found the central area of the Puzzle Canol below Vivec's temple, but no sign of the Dremora Krazzt to whom I'm supposed to give a silver longsword.

At one end of the chamber there is a large shimmery "force field" through which there apears to be no access.

Have I missed something, or is it a game bug?

It's not a bug. There should be a triolith in the middle of the room you are in with a riddle on it. Solve the riddle and the force field will drop and the path will extend. it's a tricky riddle so if you need help with it, let us know.
