you know, im tryin to look at the game in good ways. i love the character customization, the movement.. but its just not working. the idea of what the game is tryin to promote is good. theres just not enough in the game, or theres too much of it, and when theres too much of it, its always the bad stuff theres too much of. the "story", if you want to call it one, isnt even much of a story really. im not going to state what is killing the game, plenty of people have already. the game is just turning to [censored].

i dont care about "lobbies" or crap like that because they're quite useless in the end. the voice chat in the game is crap and cuts up alot, and besides that, everyone uses party chat on the 360 anyways.. hell, only 2 people ive found in the game even had a mic and i was lucky they even spoke english. its fine to fill un-used spots with AI but everyone knows the problem with that in this game. i dont want a game that plays like CoD, and thats good in this game. however, the game its self quickly becomes worse than CoD because of how horridly the games crack-induced enemy-ai camp, and your ally-ai has the fighting tenacity of a graqe fruit.

whats worse, i couldnt even GIVE this game away. i tried.

i like bethesda, but they should stay away from shooter games, even if i do lose Fallout games. i'd hate to see Elderscrolls games get treated like this. and yes i do know, "its still early! they'll fix stuff!". im doubtful. if they could quickly put in their temporary half-solution for lag then it shouldnt have been so hard for them to beef up ally ai or nerf down enemy ai. or just have a difficulty setting in the options menu from the get-go. they didnt just drop the ball on this game, thats an understatement from people tryin to be nice about it. the game is a good beta but not much more beyond there. they should look into developing this game more. at first glance, it looks like they didnt even try. but i do know that what they have in it could be something better.

im going to go trade it and maybe ill get it again a year or so down the road.. if the servers are still up for it. it'll be in the bargain bin by then for $15 most likely.

so, if you'll excuse me, this game has made me want to go punch a kitten square in the face.

Just so you know... Bethesda are the PUBLISHERS, not the developers.

They're promoting the game, marketing... Basically the ones telling us we should buy it and making pretty posters.

SPLASH DAMAGE are the developers - and they have a solid history of producing (and supporting) GREAT class-based, objective-based shooters.

You don't have to rely on Bethesda to fix the game, you have to rely on SD, and they have a PROVEN RECORD OF MAKING GREAT SHOOTERS.

Next time you think it's a good idea to talk up something you don't know about, check that nobody else beat you to it - there's a bunch of threads already where this mistake has been corrected for people.

And well done on failing to find anyone interested in Brink - you must have boring friends.
