Trolling Skyrim

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 5:29 am

So I was on my way to High Hagrid or whatever when I was attacked by an Ice Troll and two Ice Wolves. Has anyone noticed how much harder they are that regular Trolls and Wolves? They don't seem to mind fire either which is odd given their frosty nature.

To quote the official game guide*

"If you see an Ice Troll, turn around and run until you hit an invisible wall."

Frost Trolls are what kept me out of the mountains until level 12 to 15. I barely beat one on level 12.

My Level 10 Nord Warrior and Lydia can handle Ice Wolves just fine.

But ice trolls are too tough for them right now. We help of poisons and potions they can just about take one down. Two at a time, is pretty much not possible at the moment.

Ice Trolls are very tough creatures.

That ice troll made me go from expert to adept for the first time after about 25 hours of play. I tried everthing but it still kept 2 shotting me and Lydia. Then I tried fire breath on it and it ran away in fear for over a minute, with me running after it and swinging away. It was funny and an easy kill.

Ice Trolls are pretty easy.

I took out four of them all at once in some cave.
All you do is use a shout, and then stab them to death.

The only way I can kill them is to wait till daylight and turn into a Wereman. (Half man, half machine).

I've seen a hunter at a small camp, armed with nothing more than some puny weapon or other and clad in the weakest armor known to man with a dead frost troll lying by the side of his fire. Its a staged scene as the frost troll is always there and surounded by a pool of blood.

That hunter must be rock! He's killed it like Bear Grylls is what he's done.

I saw him, heard him utter the words "I've been hunting these woods for some time now." and ran!

:ahhh:

Frost trolls are supposed to have a fire weakness (actually all trolls but frost especially) yet fireballs just tickle them as they rush to eat your face

lol High Hagrid, its High Hrothgar. Anyway try using a bow or magic, especially fire spells, as well use poison on your arrows, or while it still hasn't noticed you speak to your follower then order it to attack the troll while you spam attacks at it.

It's kind of weird how I react to different enemies of Skyrim.

Apparently, in TES, "Ice" is like what "Dire" is in D&D - it just means taking a normal creature, and making it have 50 more hit points and deal twice as much damage.

Makes me worry that on some glacier somewhere, an Ice Giant is sitting there, watching his Ice Mammoth graze on deadly ice grass.
