Trophies/Achievments for Honest Hearts

Post » Fri Oct 29, 2010 8:41 am

I'm new to posting on the forum, so please forgive me if I break any protocols or fumble. I've been reading the posts over the last several weeks about the upcoming DLC and the theories about what it may contain.

Then today I saw one of the Trophies/Achievements for HH was "Evacuated Zion" and I put that together with the leaked images from the trailer. Specifically that it looks an awful lot like the Grand Canyon. Obviously the Van Buren information on Wikia isn't necessarily what we will see in the DLC, but my brain put the above together and made me think of this bit from it;

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Ballistic_Orbital_Missile_Base_001

"B.O.M.B.-002 did not fare as well. Sometime during the two-hundred years of silent orbit, perhaps ten to fifty years before 2253, something big hit B.O.M.B.-002 and sent it crashing down to earth. Pieces can be found in the Grand Canyon, but how big the pieces are, and if there is anything salvageable, remains to be seen."

Could we be dealing with the tribal people (Sorrows?) inhabiting the remains of the fallen B.O.M.B - 002 and the Burned mans attempt (supported by the opposing White Legs) to acquire the Nuclear devices it had on board? Perhaps with the intention of taking out Caesar/NCR whoever he feels has wronged him?

I can see it being in our best interests to crush this possibility before it becomes reality, as the alternative would be fighting off nukes with my Plasma Rifle?

I'm thinking it may play out that we're going to have to foil his plans by seeking out the launch/activation codes, detonating them but bugging out the Sorrows before hand/or not (Evacuated Zion).

Just a thought, but thought it might be worth sharing.

You might have hit the nail on the head there, why else would we evacuate Zion? Man I hope we can help him in his revenge scheme, it's what I would do first anyway, the burned man has always been a character I've been interested in.

of course Daniel is with the Sorrows and Joshua with the white legs, its like when Ceasar and Joshua helped the Blackfoot tribe conquer other tribes Joshua is helping the white legs conquer the sorrows by creating his own legion so you help Daniel defeat Joshua. anyone? anyone?

My theory is that Joshua Graham survived and started making it back towards New Cannan. He was near death and the White Legs helped him out, he took control of the tribe and started to attack the other tribes in the area.

I like that idea. Except, if you help Old Toasty to get nukes to destroy Caesar, then that is going to impact on the main game - if the Legion gets nuked, it's game over. (similarly with the NCR). Whatever happens can't impact on the main New Vegas storyline to that extent. Although, it could go some way to explaining why, during the Second Battle for Hoover Dam, there are only like 5 legioneries in the Legate's camp. Has the Burned Man killed the rest?

Don't judge a DLC by how many achievements it has. Point Lookout didn't have many achievements, yet it was bigger than the other Fallout 3 DLC's.

point lookout was a big map but not much to do there it would be nice to have a big map and lots to do

I hope the White legs isn't a tribe controlled by the burned man, I see no achivement to help them so in my view I think White legs may be a large critter to distract the people from the B.O.M.B

I really hope "evacuate Zion" doesn't mean there will be a huge, location destroying event that both makes it so you cannot return and so Zion National park is destroyed. That place is too awesome. Come on.

In that case don't look at anything in this thread ending in 002.

Then that XBL banner is very misleading. It'd just be [censored] Wolverine publicity:

I don't see how that fits the trope, at all. He was only supposed to show up in one cancelled game and is just mentioned in New Vegas. I do agree that it would be annoying and misleading if he was dead, though.

He is still well known amongst Fallout fans though, and it doesn't necessarily have to be a 'well known' character, just a cool looking one.

Hell, tvtropes says that New Vegas itself has a mild example of 'Wolverine publicity' with Ranger Vet gear advertised on the cover and all over advertisemants, when it doesn't even show up until late in the game.

Well the fire that Caesar blessed him with must of done a number on his vocal chords, if he's now got a woman's voice.

mostly when people get their vocal chords injured they have a raspy manly voice even women so i highly doubt that...

hmm... Daniel looks very old-skool Mormon. Zion is a fertile valley, not the grand canyon (don't think that qualifies, does it). The White Legs are the tribals we've seen in the leaked screenshot. Why would you evacuate it though? Impending natural disaster? Large nuclear device?

I'm still wondering if the evacuation will be optional. Look at the 2 ending Dead Money trophies, "Cash Out" and "Safety Deposit Box". One was Gold, the other Silver. I'm wondering if it'll be the White legs who are in Zion, and like the Great Khans, you can kill them for one trophy, and convince them to leave for another. Just a thought.

"May my Hand Forget its Skill" - Evacuated Zion (gold trophy)
"In a Foreign Land" - Scouted the Zion Valley for signs of the White Legs (bronze)
"O Daughter of Babylon" - Crushed the White Legs (silver trophy)
"When We Remembered Zion" - Arrived at Zion (bronze)

The names for these achievements come from Psalm 137, and "Restore Our Fortunes" is from Psalm 126.
Psalm 137 is about the Babylonian captivity.

This should be worth mentioning.
It says here that The Zion National Park snowglobe will most likely come out in Honest Hearts.
