Trophys for PS3 version

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:02 pm

Has anyone who plays the PS3 version besides me notice that there are no trophies for this game? There should be. Here are a few ideas for what should be trophy worthy.

1,000,000 bounty(Just hit 1mill bounty today), 1000 guard kills, completing the main quest w/ a premade character class, completing the main game w/ a custom made character, reaching lvl 100, reaching max lvl(I believe it's 255), stealing 1000 items, performing 1000 stealth kills, killing 5 characters w/ one attack, maxing out all of your major skills, maxing out all your stats, maxing out all your skills, maxing out all your skills and stats, completing the game under a certain amount of time, completing the game at max difficulty, completing the game w/ a character of each race, completing the game w/ each premade class and a custom class, killing all killable npcs, completing 500 quests, killing 1000 creatures, and ........ anything else anyone can add.

1.Game was released before trophies were implemented for the PS3.
2.Bethesda is finished with the game and will do no more.
3.Trophies are pointless for single player games.

The PS3 version is a port, the reason nothing like this even can be implemented is the fact that there is no PS3 check available. Quests with xbox achivements have scripts which check "isxbox". If it returns a 1, it gives an achievement, otherwise it doesn't. As there is no such function for the PS3 as it was late in the scene, there are no trophies.

OMG ! If there were any trophys for Oblivion they should be something like this:For completing Mages Guild,Fighters Guild,Dark Brotherhood,Thieves Guild questline. For MQ too. Maybe for reaching 10th level,20,30...(Max level is around 50 not 255!)And some reasonable trophyes not 1,000,000 bounty and stealth kills and killing guards OMG!!!

What's so unreasonable about a 1,000,000 bounty? :P

Because you should probably have to kill whole Imperial City and few more towns. And because thats not normal playing but mindless bloodthurst non-playing which could be done by 5-10 years old child, thats pretty much it. :)

Nothing, IMO. My current character (Sir Killsalot) has committed quite a few murders and has far surpassed the 1,000,000 bounty.

Current murder count is 17,326. Assault count is 8,123. Bounty is 17,650,920. As you can imagine, his Infamy is rather high. Some Legion soldiers actually run away from him istead of trying to arrest or kill him.

Go right ahead. ;) It's actually pretty fun to RP someone like Sir Killsalot (I made him just for Lolz anyway). No rules, no good or evil, just kill any living thing that crosses your path. :gun: :flamethrower: Keep in mind, the Murder Count is 17,326. The actual number of "People Killed" (including Bandits, Marauders, Conjurers, Necromancers, etc.) is 62, 468. And Creatures? I don't even keep track of that anymore.

I'm glad there are not trophies. I hate those meaningless "achievements" that mean nothing other than a person did something in a certain fashion. I have done many things in Fallout 3 and still don't even have 50% of all the trophies. They are meaningless, in my opinion. I play how I want, not in a "right way" that results in a trophy.

True. And most people who play Oblivion would likely agree with you. However, I think there is a fair number of people who play for the sense of fulfillment. I know I like to walk around Rosethorn Hall and look at all my past achievements.

It would be cool, I suppose, but I'm not going to cry over it.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I am perfectly fine without them ;)

I'm just attempting to defend those who would favor this sort of thing.

Those are true achievements, the ones that are self-made. I don't want certain things in Oblivion to only be considered achievements. I like achievements, but not visible ones in the form of a trophy. I like to become the Divine Crusader and to see a completed Rosethorn Hall, but I like it that way. That is an achievement, not some meaningless trophy that says I did that, but rather just knowing that I did that is fulfilling.

I love reading my journal entries as well. As for trophies, they sort of make a person feel obligated to do certain things. That is why I prefer no trophies.

Number of days not slept (I imagine you'd look like that bosmer inn proprieter in Passwall, SI).
Number of days spent in the sun as a full fledged vampire, without dieing.

Then again, if these type of "trophies" are only good for bragging rights and don't unlock any extra content, then no, thanks. Otherwise, you get "trophies" for completing the SI quest line. They manifest as musem displays in the New Sheoth palace.

Edit: The amount of time/ hours played before the game glitching and reloading a save?
