Trouble on homefront quest

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 5:22 pm

Hi,

How are you guys today? I am great. Anyway, i have been playing Fallout 3 without any walkthrough to this quest, doing only choices that please me. After doing this quest with "good" way, persuading Overseer to step down etc. I was really [censored] pissed when Amata said "you need to leave", it's like someone saying in real world "Thanks for your help, but get the [censored] out". It really pisses me off when the game has limited dialogue options, like where the hell are options like " Kiss my ass, i'm not leaving so shut up [censored]. or i'll decorate the wall with your brains" That's what i would say in real world, when someone said that to me. Anyway, i had no other choice but to bust a cap in her ass and then the whole Vault turned hostile towards me, no big deal, but my question here is: If i spare Butch after the Vault is in chaos, will he still be recruitable in Rivet City? Thank you.

Well it matters if he is alive and if you convince the Overseer (or Amata I forgot) to let everybody out of the vault. Also if you beat the first Fallout the same thing happens, you help Vault 13 then get kicked out. svcks ass.

Thanks for your reply. Didn't get a straight answer though, but i have my principles, no one [censored] talks to me like that, i will put a bullet in her head and see what happens. It really pisses me off to have such a limited dialogue, but im going with my instincts and put her to an early grave that shows her to show some respect. I wish this game had same options like Postal 2 game, so i could piss on her grave...

P.S. I have played many games over the years, but this quest is the only that REALLY pisses me off, its like WTF! Seriously, i would've wanted more dialogue options, if it still results the vault attacking me, i wouldn't have cared atleast i'd made my point.

IIRC, Butch will be available as a follower regardless of how you handle the quest, as long as he survives and the quest is completed.

Damn, some hell of principles you got there pal. Murdering someone for 1) saving your sorry ass 2) saving your sorry ass by preventing vindictive vault dwellers from lynching you? Quoting the protagonist of Fallout 1, "you are one sick puppy".

Of course, who am I to talk as an Enclave supporter but just murdering a genuine pure strain human for protecting her people is hardly justified IMO.

I always got the feeling that in a pure good karma oriented quest (aka didn't kill Amata's dad and convinced him to step down) that Amata's speech was more "the people here hate you, leave until I can calm them down" than "goodbye forever". The speech didnt seem nearly as 'final' than if you killed the original Overseer.

Indeed. Amata sends you away since half the dwellers still want you dead for indirectly starting the troubles in the vault. She says you can return to the vault again but alas, Bethesda got lazy.

I can only imagine what the people of Vault 13 were like after FO2. Since they had to help start a new town.
