I'm using a virtually brand new MacBook Pro and recently had the urge to play a great old game, Daggerfall, which was obviously exclusively for PC and ran in MSDos.
First, I tried to run it using DOSBox, but, being a coding novice, I was quickly lost. I read that Boxer cleaned up this script for Mac users, so I installed that and all seemed to be working well.
Until I got up to the point where I install the last released patch for the game. Currently, Boxer tells me that "Drive C is mounted as local directory /Users/myname/Dos Games.localized/daggerfall.boxer.
Then it asks me if I would like to install the latest patch (v. 1.07.213), which must be located in the subdirectory C:\DAGGER. Now, when I created the first "game box", daggerfall.boxer, I included a subdirectory "DAGGER" with the patch inside.
Naturally, I would expect the string ending in daggerfall.boxer to be my mounted C drive, since that is what it tells me. But when I accept the prompt to install the patch, Boxer tells me it is the wrong subdirectory and that the patch can only be ran from the Daggerfall subdirectory.
I am stumped. I've moved the directory and the patch all over the place, and I've tried mounting other directories as C. No luck. If anyone out there has any idea what I'm talking about, or a way to help, it would be immensely appreciated.
Thanks again!
