Trouble Overwriting Mods.

Hi, I've started using Construction set and noticed something rather annoying.

As I mod the program sometimes crashes, big whoop who cares, I save regularly.

WRONG!

It is a huge problem because everytime I try to re-open my mod it works. But everytime I try to save/overwrite my mod, it won't allow me to.

Also I have tried to save my mod with a different name, so I won't have that problem but again something is wrong.

The only things showing up when I boot up the mod, is the objects/things I added AFTER the crash. Nothing Before.

It is as if Construction Set only opens the things after the crash.

Please help, I have put too much time and effort into this to have to re-do it.

do you set your mod as the active file? that is what makes the CS save as your mod instead of a new save.

No. I do not make my mod an active file. Would that solve my problem?

Yes. When a mod is loaded as an active file it will be overwritten when you save.

I have a problem in the same field as well. When I mess with a mod, save it, exit the CS, start oblivion to test it, close Oblivion, and reopen the CS to continue messing with my mod I can't save it. I get the error "File is a master file or is in use." I've selected it as the active file so I can edit it and see it in the Cell view. If I don't select it then the building isn't there. I figure I'm doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what it is.
