"Trouble on the Home Front"

Any particular reason this quest would not happen? Just gone through the main questline and no emergency Vault 101 radio message, forgot about it last playthrough and had hoped to do it during this one. :user:

This quest will be activated anytime after completing The Waters of Life quest (which is part of the main storyline) by picking up the Vault 101 Distress Signal on your radio. To pick up the Vault 101 Distress Signal simply wander near Vault 101 (Megaton is close enough).

Just be sure to check as soon as possible. I've heard that if you let it linger far too long, the quest won't happen because, as someone put it aptly, "Amata isn't going to wait forever for you to finally get her message and return to the vault."

The distress signal seems to disappear 7 game days after completing The Waters of Life and possibly for other reasons too. If you're on PC, you can start the quest by entering setstage 00014EA3 10 in the console. If you're on 360 or PS3, you could try traveling to The Pitt then back to Vault 101 and see if that reactivates the signal.

i can't remember what exactly i did, but i think going to The Pitt might work

Which is a bit odd, as starting Take it Back! renders Trouble on the Home Front unavailable henceforth. Seems they accidentally wrote in a loophole.

Since I usually either live in Megaton or do a lot of business there, I don't have much trouble getting to the quest. Though sometimes I just don't bother with it. Some stupid glitch causes people to start shooting at me in the vault, and I have to either flee with bullets flying past me or slaughter half the remaining vault residents to get out.

Done with main quest, and still it never appeared, I do remember reading something about the Pitt bugging something in the main game before, so maybe next time I shall do the DLC before the Main Quest and see if that helps.

Oh well, just out of the Pitt now anyway, going to have some fun with the Perforator :celebration:
