Trouble with Throwing Weapon Attack Sounds

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2009 5:26 am

So, after much trouble just trying to get my custom sound effect to work in-game (I forgot to mess with the sliders and such on the edit window for the sound XD) I've come across a new problem. I can't figure out how to change the sound effect that plays when I use mines, grenades, or throwing weapons. Anyone know how to go about doing that? Because simply selecting the sound in the "Attack Sound (3D/3D Dist/2D)" menus doesn't work. Just the pin-pull/mine-set/etc. sound effect.

It's probably in the attack animation kfs. Have a look through the Text Keys of the animation you want to use (you should be able to find them on the controller), see if any of them refer to a sound. If so, alter it to the sound you want and save the animation in a free 'slot', and change its controller name to match. You'd do this by looking at the Attack Animation list, and comparing it to the existing attack animations for your weapon's grip, e.g. if it's 1md grip, the 1md set of animations doesn't have a PlaceMine2 animation, so you can save your altered animation as 1mdPlaceMine2.kf and rename its controller name to PlaceMine2.
