Trouble with Trader's Brahmin and Guards (as in missing) : Fallout 3

I started a new game from a save made just before exiting Vault 101, and encountered a new glitch when I arrived outside Megaton.

Both Doc Hoff and Lucky Harith were missing their Brahmin and their personal bodyguards. I think the Brahmin aren't more than window dressing, as far as concerns game play, but those traders WILL die without their bodyguards, so this is a serious glitch.

With Google, I found this:

1. Walk to a location where you usually meet the traders (this is done to make sure they're is resurrected in the right location)(ex: in front of megaton )

2. Enter the console by pressing the tilde key ~

3. Type: prid "character number" (press enter)
(ex: to select Crow type: prid 00063c05)

4. Type: moveto player (press enter)
(this spawns the NPC at your location)

5. And if the character is dead type: resurrect (press enter)

.... and just to be crystal... no quotation marks or brackets!

Worked fine for Doc Hoff's Brahmin and guard (all three will spawn together if I wait around). It also worked for Lucky Harith's guard (she will always spawn with Harwith if I wait). I'm not having any luck with Lucky's pack Brahmin. If I wait around, Lucky and his bodyguard will vanish, but his Brahmin remains behind for a few moments, then runs off to catch up. On'y I don't think it ever catches up, because it won't be with Lucky the next time he spawns.

I'm wondering if anyone came up with a magic bullet for this glitch? I'd sure hate to start the game over (again).
