That would be pretty cool, but I do not see being implemented in the game though. It should be a high lvl axe perk. Also the axe would have to be small too.

Only if it's a magically returning axe. I'm not going to throw away that much money, nor my main weapon (even secondary) weapon. I'm just not one for throwing away a weapon like that. If I miss...I'm SOL. If the target doesn't go down, I'm SOL.

I can image it now. "Throwing Axe:Throw your war axe a moderate distance at a foe for critical damage and bleeding effects, but for less base damage. Note: Axes are retrievable." It doesn't seem like a bad idea at all to me.

Throwing axes are not like normal axes, there smaller and balanced to be thrown, if they are in the game they should rarer then arrows and about quarter the weight?

A bit more thinking....

I could go with 4 'hawks: 2 for throwing (that's all you could get off due to short range), dual 2 other 'hawks. That'd be intersting. But I'd still want to be able to find my thrown weapons (assuming the enemy doesn't pick it up and use it against me...)

They'd probably never actually break besides the lose endurance break, so the only way to lose one is for you to be unable to reach it I would assume.

I think it's stupid idea.

I mean, what if you miss? You've just disarmed yourself and given your opponent an extra weapon.

Like Tomahawks? I'd like that, I would rather throw large stones at enemies so they can be crippled.

Volendrung with scripted ability return to hands of owner, such ability can be received as reward for doing some quest and fit lore also
Hammerfell's original name was Volenfell, given to it by the Rourken Clan of Dwemer during the First Era. It is said that the leader of the clan threw his mighty hammer, Volendrung, across the continent, and followed it to their new home (This scene is depicted on many frescos in Ruins throughout the region.) The Rourken were opposed to the creation of the joint Dwemer-Chimer state of Resdayn, which prompted their move westward. It was later named Hegathe by the Aldmer and Deathland by the Nedic peoples, before the Redguards arrived and named it Hammerfell, translated from the Dwemeris.

Return of throwing weapons will great,

They are not crossbows so will not looks outside of technology level in Skyrim (there is still can be an dwemeric artifact crossbow),

Throwing weapons isn't hard to be done,

Throwing weapons will expand Marksman and make it more interesting and variable,

Work well with stealth alchemy as throwing flasks of Flammable Oils, Damage Equipment Acid, Slippery Grease, Poison and Paralyze Gas, Smoke or Flashbang Bombs etc.

Add ability distract enemies guards with with throwing clutter around

Some throwing weapons can relay on Agility and Marksman so poison needles and darts, stars and daggers, can be usable by nimble characters, some on Strength and Marksman so powerful characters will not relay only on melee combat but also will have some options for short and middle distance like Throwing Axes, Javelins, Throwing Hammers, Stones for Giants

Throwing weapon isn't has the same purpose as bows have bows work middle-long distance need better targeting and usable for sniper and need time to be drawn, bows utilize both hands for work like two handed weapons
while Throwing weapon work on short-middle distance not need better targeting so there is no bow sway effect, usable for silent kills at short distance, take smaller time to draw, utilize dual wielding (we can throw two projective at one time) and even with some skills (perks) can give ability throw more weapons at one time thats anologue of dual wielding for marksman weapons.

No need different or special button for Throwing Grab Key can be used with Strike Button for current hand Simulationsly, hold it for some time and release will allow throw current equipped item forward, holding it more will allow thrown it furtherer, use just strike button will swing weapons as melee weapon, if throwing an clutter no need to show it in equipped in hand and quick tap of grab will drop item, while another quick tap will allow garb item again, no need hold button for dragging item around.

Thats sentence from Liar thats justify the laziness,
also
"M" or "Ma" means "child" or "apprentice". Khajiit also use the word to imply one who is a virgin.

No need strictly believe him.

Imagine if you hit them in the head, it would look somithing like when they smashed the head of that skeleton looking guy in the gameplay trailer B)

Yes, yes there is a thread already about trowing axes ;).

Probably should migrate over there. Throwing axes, javelins, and throwing knives were the most popular suggested weapons there due to their Nord feel...though other asiatic throwing weapons were suggested, which isn't a stretch since they were in Morrowind.

Throwing weapons worked pretty well in New Vegas; I can't see why they wouldn't work in Skyrim.
