i understand, but having to waste an ability on that perk is effin annoying. but, ill have to deal, right?

Hey now..I wouldn't say it's a waste. Honestly I think that sounds like a pretty damn sweet ability. O.o Especially considering once you unlock it once you can use it with any other character..or was that feature axed?

Abilities are restricted by rank.

Weapons, attachments and customisations can be used with any character once unlocked.

I don't think you should show up on radar... yes its true you will make noise when running with pounds of equipment but thats SOUND not visuals.. you should have to lsiten for there footsteps not use radar... since when can an enemies radar show footsteps and locations by sound alone

Unsilenced guns going off are also sounds but they can tell you where someone's shooting from. Think of it as you running by someone that hears you, and having them yell out to their team " hey I heard something over here". The simplest way to do this is to put them on a mini map, it makes sense.

I live in an apartment building next to one of the busiest streets IN THE COUNTRY.

I'm on the second floor, and when a bus goes past, I WON'T HEAR YOU COMING.

Is it fair that I'm penalised? No.

What about when my flatmate's asleep in the room next to me, and I have to turn the volume down?
What about the 15- to 18-year-olds still living at home who have their parents yelling at them about the noise?
What about the people whose partner isn't into gaming, and who either have to put up with powertools drowning out their game sounds, or a person yelling at them to turn it down?
What about the people who don't have a set of high-quality headphones?

Got enough reasons why showing up on the radar is a good idea yet?

Saying "it's like Halo" isn't necessarily a bad thing. Halo gets some things right, you know.

EDIT: On the topic of abilities...

It's 3 ACTIVE abilities. Passive abilities, class-specific or not, you can have any number of. Active abilities are the ones you have to select and press a button to use. Anything else and you're only limited by level.

Simple solution... Headphones.... very cheap.... and its kinda of a big give away to show people around you running when u cant even see them visually... what if im in the room next door and i move 2 ft you are able to know im in there and if im in the corner or not, where as by souhnd you know im there but not exactly were at in the room... got it...

Not a waste if it gets rid of something that annoys you. Also not all classes will need it, I mean a heavy soldier is not going to be sneaking around sprinting behind peoples backs. Only class that would def need it would be an Op that plans on going behind enemy lines.

I addressed that a lot of people don't have headphones, and can't afford good ones.

And having headphones does almost nothing for the volume of the buses and cars driving past my window. I'm just lucky I got to borrow someone else's headset to find that out, instead of wasting money on them before realising they didn't fix the problem.

Yes running near someone will put you on their mini map but with the passive ability silent running (or just don't run) you won't show up on the mini map. It makes since because you can actually hear people running on metal and know the general direction of where the noise is coming from. It's like shooitng without a silencer......

I don't like the sound of appearing on enemy radar when I sprint, but I got used to it from playing RDR multiplayer matches and it wasn't that annoying since it works both ways and everyone has to abide to the rule of "sprint and be seen". I don't own any Halo games so I don't know how it works there. I'd prefer if there was a sort of "hardcoe" mode similar to the one in BFBC2 where your radar is removed so it's no longer an issue because that's what I play and have become accustomed to.

Also, I think the fact that some of you are bad mouthing people simply for using headphones is funny.

In Halo, you have a motion sensor as a radar. Moving at full speed while standing will cause you to appear on the motion sensor. On the other hand, moving while crouching will not cause you to appear.

Because the movement you're able to achieve should be totally without risk, right?

Not meaning to sound rude about that. Just... I don't agree, because it's one of those risk/reward things - you get to move faster between objectives, but if an enemy's close, they know you're doing it.

Simple solution. Shoot them down before they can react to the minimap dot. With a silenced weapon.

How is it annoying, can you in real life run with full MIL-SPEC gear silently, no, all the movement will make noise, so having that as a ability is very helpful.

You can not even walk silent if you wear any kind of robust shoes/boots. Without any heavy equipment.

I don't think you should show up on radar... yes its true you will make noise when running with pounds of equipment but thats SOUND not visuals.. you should have to lsiten for there footsteps not use radar... since when can an enemies radar show footsteps and locations by sound alone

The great equalizer for those with and without headsets.

I'm fine with it. Like most other people.
