to buy it or not to buy ... that is the question. but seriously, it seems to be another EPIC FAIL game just after cod:MW2, Black Ops, Dragon Age 2. I hope "Brink" will be something worth to wait for.

First off! I want to say that the comments on here are all over the board some I agree with others I dont! As for this game svcking, thats just false, sure its not Crysis 1 or warhead, but some of it is fun $60 fun NO! Now as for it being counselized, I definitly agree. Look at the control scheme, does it feel like a run of the mill counsel>PC port control flip, YES. Do the controls have a dumbed down controller feel, YES. Now why is this, well armor is Q and invis is E ok seems alright wait the other Nano suit controls are only opned with the scroll whell click, hey fine, that can be changed and was the same as before but notice the previlence of this game on councles and how 2 buttons are always show cased(being that yoru have 2 fingers and 2 thumbs always doning things on controllers)! Here we go your lights on yet. Im not sure what the Xbox or PS3 controlls are but im sure that these controlls were made for consouls and ported to the PC by some ASS. Look at Mass Effect on 360, meh, its good at best. Then with the control improvment on PC, well I bought it again, 2 as well.

So all in all is this game bad NO! I love steam and good shooters, their fun to burn time, but we all know (if your a real gamer) that big companys like EA and Activison etc. are runing gaming for all of us. So dont blame Cryteck completly im sure EA was pressuring them to pull some **** moves now that it was a more previlent, HYPED, game.

Do you know how stupid some of these comments sound? The game being on consoles has nothing to do with the issues mentioned.. They made the game the way they wanted to. Features they didn't want were taken out. Gun grab animation, first person driving, etc... Do you guys honestly believe they removed these sorts of things because it wouldn't fit on consoles or something? This is cracking me up.

you sir, are an obvious dumbass.. they were taken out simply because they were focusing so much on the consoles that they didnt even have enough time to see what made the first game great.. they made the game in a way so that it would appeal to console gamers..
-why leave the island in the first place?
* because consoles wouldnt be handling it in the first place.
-Why remove the huge sandbox gameplay?
*consoles cant handle it.
-why make strength and speed passive abilities?
* Because controllers dont have enough bottons.
-why not build crysis 2 with dx11 from the ground up?
* consoles only use dx9.
-why remove ammo grabbing animation and first person view in vehicles?
*console players ( mostly ) havent played the first crysis so why would they care?
-no lean?
*not enough buttons on the controllers.
-55° field of view?
*console gamers play on their tv's while sitting 10 feet away so broader FoV would ruin their experience.

the questions continue my retarded friend.. but the only question i have is :

-Why didnt you feature all these stuff only on the pc since the pc clearly can handle it and we've seen in crysis and crysis warhead
*"To busy pleasing the console gamers and we dont wanna punish the console gamers because they make us more money"

**** CRYTEK.

*Couldn't be more exact with the above, makes me cry cus its so obviously true. :(

//Btw rig1989 is a dumbass console player, so stfu and leave. This is a crysis 1 players discussion rant not the new crysis 2 console comers. You **** idiots.

Right.... Because the gaming platform you choose is directly related to your intelligence level..... That's some excellent logic. You all sound retarded. The only problem any of you really have is that the game is multiplat. The game could be exactly the same as is and be PC exclusive and none of you would be here complaining. Why is it people that play on PC run around saying "PC this PC that - console svcks" all the time? What is it about your nature that makes you need to say "console svcks" for no reason? Everybody is aware that you can pay 3x as much to get a little better graphics but the games are exactly the same. You don't have to declare your elite status to everyone..

PC Gamer magazine gave crysis 2 an 89, compared to the first Crysis which rightfully got a 98 which it deserved. They did thankfully address the frustrating lack of quicksave, the sub par graphics and weaker nanosuit. Of course console magazines are giving it great reviews though. They need to release a huge patch soon to fix all this, but I'm not getting my hopes up for anything from crytek now. SOMEONE got fired after Crysis 1, someone that shouldn't have been fired, thats honestly what I'm thinking at this point.

What on earth was Crytek thinking? This game is so much worse than the original crysis It's shocking. No Directx10 or 11, no prone, no lean, no fists, no first-person driving, no weapon grabbing animation, no holding weapons and enemies at the same time, throwing objects feels weird and awkward now, the nanosuit isn't nearly as much fun to use or as responsive, no quicksave, no regular save, no making the difficulty higher without starting the game over, no changing the color of the menu and HUD, no customizing crosshairs, no graphics options whatsoever, no difference between this game and halo or cod. I got myself so pumped up for this game only to be let down. I just have no idea what Crytek was thinking, they should have known they would get flamed bad for this.
Glad I did not buy it then. I was gonna pull the trigger last night since I really loved Crysis 1 and Warhead but wanted to see what the people are saying about it. I don't trust game sites/magazine reviews anymore.
I check what the actual people like you and I are saying about games.
I will wait till it is on sale on steam and then get it.
Thanks again for the heads up :)

No problem man. People should know the truth about what they are buying beforehand.

You know, they intentionally piss pc gamers off to make those console fanboys happy.

Please don't say stupid things like that.

Crytek put too much focus into a console game and ended up lumping a console port on the community of PC gamers that made them famous, but I doubt they are intentionally poking at us to appease console gamers.

A couple of things I noticed right off:

The field of view is off. It took a couple hours to get used to it.

Graphix on "Extreme" on animated models are "meh". The ground texture like rocks and foliage is outstanding, but faces and body goo that is caused by the "infection" seems smudged and sub par. Reminded me of Half life one in some cases.

The leaning "feature" definitely falls into the "WTH" category. It feels and looks like that weird RB6 Vegas lean thing. bleh. Some real lean would be nice.

This engine is so much more capable of delivering SO much more than this. I'm a bit dumbfounded.
The game play is fun, but visually, this game really falls short of all the "WOW" it was hyping.
Oh, about the ammo pickup animation, That was removed in Warhead. The simplified a few things in the game that made it flow a bit more. (better or not is subjective).

Also, there IS a crosshair use option. You can turn it off for whoever posted that a couple pages back.
I haven't played mutli yet, but I'm wondering now. Over all it's fun and not bad, but like I said. It doesn't match up with all the hype. .. how many games have so far? Halo Reach perhaps? That's about it.

Sorry Crytek, I like the game, but there are a few things that left me scratching my head. This will probably be my last game I buy. period. Dumbing things back for the consoles is becoming the norm and after watching the change over the last 15 years (I've been gaming since the early 80's) I'm done. Software companies are in it for the money as well as the art and the money is squarely on the console crowd.

Laters.

Oh I almost forgot to add to the list, no aiming down sights with laser sight attached, and no adding reflex sight with laser sight at the same time. Yet again I am left scratching my head.

Duke Nukem Forever FTW, cant wait to play "Capture the Babe"!!

On topic, the demo had me swayed towards not getting this, it had a BIG case of Consolitis. Was pretty damn sure it would carry over to the final release. To Crytek, don't make another Crysis. If you do, choose one platform and go that route, Console or PC not both. Your Greed has ruined a stellar PC Franchise? Live and learn I guess, karma is a bich though.

Crytek should really consider this game canon and start over and stay on Cryengine 2.This is a pathetic pile of spitt compared to the first crysis.

It's not that Cryengine 3 is worse than Cryengine 2, it's just that Crysis 2 is different from Crysis 1, it's worse in some ways, but better in others. In terms of the engine itself, Cryengine 3 seems much better, it's definitely more optimized.

Man....I've been reading all the trash talk about this game. A lot of it is well justified....maybe Crytek will listen, but consider this....

Based on critic reviews (Metacritic), this game got an average score of 89. I would bet they are satisfied with that....they feel they succeeded. So why would they worry about what the gamers say, they got what they wanted, good critic reviews.

A Crytek employee was quoted saying, "a game is is not successful unless it gets a 90 or higher". I think 89 is close enough. So, I wouldn't expect any updates from them....they win, pc gamers lose. They are probably reading these posts and laughing at us as I type this.

Im a victim myself. I jumped the gun and coughed up the sixty....its a great game but some of the issues I can't forgive... Gamers ....we made a sixty dollar mistake....let's learn from it

I feel like such an idiot. I pre-ordered from D2D so there is no refund :(

I never pre-order games but i did with this one since Crytek knows how to make great pc titles. Now suddenly they have no clue why we want to be able to change the graphical settings.

Who could have known that Crytek of all developers would pee all over us pc gamers faces?

Well, have to pretend my Crysis 2 money is a part payment for these three badboys:
