Trying to find a book

Post » Fri Sep 03, 2010 12:56 am

I have no idea what the name of the book is, but I remember a some details that should help anyone willing to give me the name of the book, if you have read it.

First, I THINK the cover of the book had some shadowy face of a dog esque creature on the side, and then a couple of shadowy zombie looking people on there too. It starts out with some kid whos being

driven or something to Wales, and he just woke up from a coma and cant remember anything. He has a trusty dog I believe. Throughout the story he begins to learn he was some warrior of the good side, the

"Light" or something, and he was battling some metaphorical forces of darkness that were "gathering on the horizon" or so the book says (something like that).

Also, at some point, he is audience to a council of the light side guys, who are wise and such (I believe) and they give him a harp, I believe. One of them was actually an evil guy in disguise. Also, at some

point, I think his dog needs help or something, but there is a pebble in his pocket that is weighing him down to the ground completely, and it is implied that the forces of darkness are acting against him in this

way. That is all I remember.

I was going to say it sounds a lot like Terry Pratchett's Soul Music in parts.

It sure makes it easier to read.

Does no one know this book? I remember being told it was a popular book. I could've been told wrong though.

Ha, yes I believe that is it. Though I don't remember much, theres no way that this isn't the book, theres too many similarities and the cover especially looks familiar. Thank you!
