Trying to find a good weapon fit

So I've got a character that is decked out in wolf armor, a nice wolf-skin cloak (mod) and a steal and wolf-skin helmet (same mod), with a banded iron shield. He is a Nord that uses primarily frost magic for ranged combat. I just can't really commit to a melee combat style. I'm not sure if I want to go hand-to-hand plus shield (shield brawler, thanks to a mod), or add an actual weapon into the mix. Any ideas on a good weapon choice? Most of the suggestions will probably be skyforge steel, but I figured I'd crowd-source anyway. Maybe lose the shield all together?

Here is a look at said character: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/138/wolfarmor1.png/

1-handed or 2-handed? Or is that the very question?

War axes have a certain appeal, I find. Maybe the Nordic kind from DB?

If you're dual-casting spells, though, it might make just as much sense to go 2-h.
