trying to find a location in Skyrim. : V

I was bringing something to someone and on the way to the town I passed a huge clearing with what looked to be hot springs.
I was very high up in elevation (reminded me of my vacation to Yosemite Nat'l Park). I was on a road that was overlooking this area.
I should have placed a marker but I forgot. Where is it?

The area between Riften and Windhelm.

Go to Riften then from there north is a little town called Shor's Stone, right above that town is the area you are looking for.
