Ok, I am trying to mod and suddenly. . .Stupid issue forms f

Post » Wed May 02, 2012 11:21 pm

Everything is all fine and dandy, and then poof, any form of File or Esp I saved suddenly locks and goes invisible, but is still there, also it automatically puts itself active when playing the game.

So I can't deactivate the esp because I can't see it, nor can I Edit because of the same reason.

The only way I can actually see it is if I click on the compatibility files option on the header bar in Morrowind Data Files C-Disk.

Which when it shows then, it acts if their is nothing wrong with it. . .

So issue:

-New files and Esps Become invisible
-sometimes lock icons appear before it
-I can't deactivate these esps
-I can't activate them
-I can't edit these esps
-the game crashes when I trying playing my game and their is an invisible esp activated
-Reinstalling doesn't fix the problem
-Editing the security and or share options for these invisible files and esps doesn't work
-It's drastically hindering my mod work

No - I am not sure that'd work but I can try. I CAN create new folders without that issue.

However, I reinstalled the game recently because I had this issue with the previous installation and the MGE folders in my Morrowind directory stayed behind as invisible and with the lock icons.

EVEN the though I deleted the entire Bethesda folder and uninstalled the game. So, I am dealing with Ghost folders from previous installations as well as new ghost folders/ESPs every-time I try saving a new esp.

Try searching for the "ghost" files in C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Virtual Store\Program Files\Betehsda Softowrks\Morrowind
You may need to have the hidden files set to visible in Explorer settings.

I'm still using XP and I'm not very familiar with Vista/7, but they just don't like when you or a program messes in Program Files, and instead it takes the files to that hidden folder. So, it is generally best to install games, especially the ones that you want to mod, outside Program Files.

That one I didn't know. lol. I did fix the issue. haha. Now, sadly, as I have never had to do this I am Working on a screenshot of my first Interior for my mod. Though, It is painstaking because I can't find out how to take screenshots with the CS. -_-

If you just want to make a screen of one of the windows, you can press ALT+PRTSC. it will copy the active window. Including the ones in the CS. It's how I get my CS shots.
