Trying To Mod In a mesh- Invisible armor problem

Post » Sun Aug 08, 2010 11:54 am

I have never imported or exported anything before much less a .nif file, just did the modeling for it in 3ds max and also tried using blender.

So I'm getting an invisible armor problem, the .nif file says this when I expand it:

-0NiNode Scene Root
+1 NiNode Bip01
+132 NiNode ArmorF
+141 NiNode ArmorB
Etc...... They all say NiNode and I'm not sure if I imported or exported incorrectly or missed a step.

Yeah, Oblivion mod forum has more activity still. Guess it makes sense, had longer to gather a following.

if you posted in the GECK forums I would have found your topic. That's where modding troubleshooting normally happens.

I could tell you what is wrong with the nif if you link me it. perhaps not what is wrong with your scene preexport or if you made a booboo during export, as you have not given any information about how you went about that.

did you export to a nif from max?

Oh man finally, this means a lot really. Had no idea that's what the Geck was for, barely got into fallout modding when it came out and dropped the notion for a while. If a mod would please move the topic appropriately then I'd be most obliged.

Yes I did export to nif, I made sure I had those niftools downloaded ever since some minor attempts at Oblivion modding actually. This might be of use to you, I was in the process of re-texturing some mods when I just decided to combine the armor pieces I liked from each and then model the minor errors such as clipping- the major bulk of the work was that I also had a slightly different body mesh then what is the norm.

Also, I don't mean to lure anyone into the false assumption this is a FallOut mod- the fact is I made this topic because no one responds to me on the Oblivion one. If that's alright with you then I'll continue and link you the mesh. I was also under the impression the modding procedure was the same- might be wrong so just let me know and I'll stop wasting everyones time here.

Edit-> Lol just found out a Mod from the Oblivion forums deleted my bumps and said I was flame baiting by "attitude"(Edit-> Correction, that was the reason on editing my posts- didn't quite type it out in post just rather suggestive). Would of liked some help from him if he was going to call me on all that.

Final Edit-> Problem solved, thanks anyways for responding in a helpful manner. Close or remove this topic.
