Trying to mod a weapon

Post » Fri Apr 01, 2011 4:17 pm

I am trying to mod a weapon and don't know how to change the damage per second up at the top right? I am getting ludicrous amounts of damage in that box - it appears as 300+ and in game as: 3569 (made up number but over 3000+) What the heck?

I understand the other variables but how do I change this?

Change the weapon damage. The DPS box is a calculated value based on rate of fire and damage.

I'm trying to make an auto-combat shotgun.

I set the rate of fire to 4 (Submachine gun is 10), the damage to 10 (submachine gun is 7), and the crit damage to 10 (don't know if this is a factor).

The DPS up top says 49. Yet in game it reads 800+ ?!?!

I cannot figure out what is going on?

Pay no attention to the DPS output in game. It is effected by the clip size and thus is not reliable for ingame DPS calculation. As for complaining of too high DPS lower down the damage by a point or two. Or even lower the fire rate.
