I am a frantic fan when it comes to Oblivion. :biggrin: I have it on the PS3 and have loved every minute playing it.

However with the announcement of TES:V I started to consider maybe getting it on the PC. But before I wanted to make up my mind, I thought, why not try Oblvion in the PC? And if its any good then consider it for TES:V. Jet they are just some things I am wondering about and hope you could help. :happy:

I know my computer can handle the game. Checked the specs and everything is okay. But whats it like playing with the keyboard and mouse? I think it would feel rather odd. Is there any possible way I could connect my PS3 controller to my computer and use that? Also if I were to get a blue-tooth dongle for my computer could I use the controller wirelessly?

Also is there anything else thats different between the two versions? I know about access to the console and the use of mods. (The main reason why I am considering the PC)

Finally I am aware I can output the screen and sound to come from my TV, but just to make sure, would they be any problems with doing this while playing the game? I know it may seem kinda obvious but better safe than sorry. :sweat:

I also started playing Oblivion on PS3 and I find it much more enjoyable on PC (mainly due to mods). I tried several ways of getting my PS3 controller (or one like it) set up for my PC, but couldn't get it to work properly. I took the time to learn the keyboard setup instead and I've gotten so used to it that I can't play Oblivion on PS3 any more.


The only differences would be graphical in nature, and that would depend on your graphics card. The PS3 did load things faster than my PC does, but not by much. And that particular issue depends on the computer.

One thing: If you use Windows Vista or Windows 7, do not install Oblivion into the Program Files directory. The UAC will interfere with mods. Install to a custom directory instead (Like C:/Games/Oblivion).



With the proper connections, there should be no problems. Many PC players use that very setup.

My graphics card I believe is and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330. Is it any good, and will it produce high quality graphics?

No, that is a terrible card. A 8600GTm is leaps and bounds above that card and if you said you had a 8600GTm I would of told you that was a terrible card too, but at least that is better than the minimum requirement for Oblivion... which is a Nvidia 6800. Even the Desktop 4350 isn't enough.

Laptop or desktop computer? If you have a desktop, you can upgrade the video card, and have a very nice playing experience. If its a laptop..... most are not upgradeable.

That little part in the name that says "Mobility" means it's a laptop GPU.
