Trying to play Skyrim in Russian

Post » Sun May 18, 2014 8:35 pm

When I right-click Skyrim in my library, click Properties and go to the language tab, I see there are now nine language options, and Russian is one of them. (There were six, and once I downloaded Dawnguard, that number became nine, including Russian.)

I'm studying Russian and I figure this'll be great. Two birds with one stone. I'll have fun playing Skyrim and work on my Russian at the same time.

Except that the game won't run.

When I click 'play,' I get the error message, "Failed to start game (missing executable)."

So I right-clicked Skyrim again from the library, once again went to 'Properties,' and from there to 'Local Files.' I clicked 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache...." and got the message "1 files failed to validate and will be reacquired." But it isn't being reacquired.

I have a feeling that this is the problem.

Any help.....? (Thanks in advance.)

One or more files may fail to verify.

This is normal for most Steam games. The files that fail to verify are local configuration files that should not be replaced as part of this process. You can safely ignore this message.

You can try to change under control panel -> Region and Language -> Format, Location, Keyboards and Languages to Russian and try again...
