Tsaesci: Are they really Akaviri?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 7:40 pm

When it comes to something akin to arguing the point of subtlety, you either recognize it, or you don't. It's not something worth debating into the point of minutia.

I recognize, however, your right to be wrong in the regard of the subtlety and restraint held in most of Elder Scrolls lore.

All the same, I will continue to chortle to myself at the hostility shown by the "immortal.vampire.snakemen" crowd at anyone who suggests an impediment to what appears to be the sole thing determining their fun.

 in that case you are going to be doing a whole lot of chortling here - these guys have a position on just about everything and the same unshakeable belief in their position in each subject too - then a new game comes out ;)

I've already got the pain reliever on hand to numb the pain from the amount of chortling I intend to do, but I appreciate the concern and invite you to chortle with me.

Fortunately, it's easier to hold the opinion of "Whatever Bethesda ends up going with is fine by me" than "If anything else happens, my fun is spoiled".

i'm just dissapointed that there is a lot that suggest that the tsaesci are infact human in-game, while all of the facts contrary are not.

in-game, the 2920 series can be seen as sensationalized rather than a true account; mysterious akavir comes off as really inaccurate; the remanada comes off as biased empire propaganda (something hinted a lot with the texts in-game, to keep an open mind due to bias); the remains and ghosts of tsaesci were human in-game; the disaster at ionith mentions tsaesci mounted men, the annotated anuad mentions tsaesci as men, and there's nothing in the imperial city or cloud temple, which were influenced by tsaesci culture, that would suggest vampire snakemen at all.

given the examples above, it's easy to see why many will believe that the tsaesci are human, or more human than led to believe. given that the devs only verified that tsaesci are real snakemen as fact outside the game in one thread, and then used obscure references and sources in others, and making retcons in the process...

anyways, the main point is i wish real lore would appear more in-game or suggested more in-game.

 - misleading title, supposed content appears to be precis - and a precis is not generally a story or an article - but more in the nature of comment, :P ... I took that 'content' to be a working note = poor description. I prefer his posts on this forum usually.
Adanorcil's been a little too busy lately to finish working on it.

Personally, I think he's a bit too pretentious.

This thread has reached a depth of personal invective and insulting tone that will get members suspended if it is allowed to continue. So let's drop it before the moderators have to raise some members' warning bars, and not continue this line of garbage in any other thread.
