MAY IS GOING TO BE THE BEST MONTH OF MY LIFE. EVER.

Tuesday may 3rd, Duke nukem forever comes out (god i hope its good)
Tuesday may 10th, apperantly, my fav band that broke up a few years ago, system of a down aka SOAD, is going to play together again for a tour in europe, hopefully they will stay together now :D.
Tuesday may 17th, BRINK IS FREAKING RELEASED! THE HOLY DAY THAT H0RSE HIMSELF TOLD OF!

THIS MUST BE A SIGN! or something....

i think i might die from winning overload on may 17th from awesome things happining the last two tuesdays from that day.

I CANNOT KEEP THIS EXCITMENT INSIDE ME! I NEED TO DANCE! :intergalactic:

Duke got pushed back to June dude. I'm exactly the way this guy is sounding about Brink, even though it may not seem it. Also, did anybody see what was on the VERY first page of the GameInformer mag with saints row 3 on the cover ;)? That made my day! But yea, I ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT WAIT FOR BRINK!!!!!!!!!! Ask my parents XD, it's practically all I think about. But, a few days ago was my birthday, I pre-ordered and completely paid off Brink, and Portal 2, hopefully Portal 2 will hold me off until Brink, then it's Brink 24/7!

From what I've seen, Duke Nukem is like 50% porm. That doesn't make it an awsome game, it means it wasted 50% of what it could've been. The other stuff is cool.

No, that's just the parts they show in trailers, and the most talked about. You see naked females, true. But you see them for maybe, MAYBE 5% of the total game, if that.

Saying Duke Nukem is like 50% porm is like saying the main goal of the Grand Theft Auto games is to beat up prosttutes, or saying Mass Effect can be "customised to sodomise whatever, whomever, however, the game player wishes."

There's nudity, yes, but its not and won't be "porm," otherwise it would be rated "A" for "advlt" rather than "M" for mature.

Personally, I see Duke Nukem as a satire of the "macho manliness" encouraged by society. Sort of like the Old Spice commercials, only a bit grittier.

tl;dr
The media is biased to cover the most unusual parts of something. Just because you hear about nudity in Duke Nukem more than anything else doesn't mean there is nudity throughout half the game.

I can only base that on what I have seen in the trailors.

Agreed, although it doesn't mean it doesn't go over the top.

A satire usually does go over the top. That's kinda the point of a satire...carry on a belief/image to the extreme to kinda poke fun of it. See Stephen Colbert. He's an excellent example of this; he satires the news and media with his over-the-top behavior.

Sure, but there's over the top and then there's "Over the Top". Good satire is sort of like Brink's art style, you recognize what you're looking at, but it's exaggerated to make the details more obvious. Some "satire" reaches a point where what you're looking at doesn't really make sense when you sit it next to that which it's supposed to be the exaggeration of.

And don't mistake me, I'm not saying the Duke is "Over the Top", I haven't followed the info on the game since...maybe the first time the project was cancelled.

Don't forget L.A. Noire comes out the same day as Brink, which is a shame, I wish they were further apart because both will be awesome!

I hope Duke Nukem bombs.

It's a relic of the 90's that should have stayed in the 90's.

It seems like it's trying to spoof itself. When I saw videos, I just kept thinking to myself: "This reminds me of Matt Hazard.." And to be honest, Matt Hazard is cooler then Duke.

I'm really, really excited for Brink. I checked my pre-order, it was at the beginning of last year before it's release date kept getting bumped. I've waited a year for it...which brings me to Duke.

I'm not a big fan of Duke, I'm also worried it will be "trying too hard". But even if I was a huge fan, how can you possibly live up to so many years of development and disappointment?

It was announced in 1997!
14 years!

It could be game of the year and you'd still need to give away a Porsche with every pre-order, just to apologise! Watch Zero Punctuation's review on it, hits the nail on the head. (yes, he did a 'review' when it was meant to have been released for review)

Because for some reason games come out in the US on Tuesday and Europe on Friday. At least Europe has the sense to release it for the weekend.

Duke has been pushed, AGAIN? This is why i hate gearbox, and i love duke nukem because it was one a game me and my cousin played ALOT on our Nitendo 64 when we were younger, and im just hoping Duke Nukem Forever will be super amazing, i have y doubts but if it turns out to be mega super amazing sptacular then im getting it, if not i will curse gearbox softworks (or w/e they are) and they will be doomed to forever be a crappy company.

The release date has nothing to do with the devs though its to do with the publishers who are bethesda who are not from the EU or UK.

So as irritating as it is that SD are a UK based company but they get robbed to release 4 days later in the EU we will have to live with it :(

Hey, don't knock Gearbox - Borderlands is a solid game! And if you doom them to be a crappy company, Borderlands 2 will svck.

Yes well i hope it does fail, gearbox says they "fixed" all glitchs and bugs in borderlands, i have yet to see this.

i am unable to connect to my freinds and cannot play online co op with my freinds, the ingame freind system epicly fails, why there is a ingame freind system confuses me, for there is a freind system already established on PSN/XBL, they will not fix any problems that almost everyone is having because it is apperantly fixed, which it is NOT fixed, and they focus to much on duke, tho i am happy duke is coming back (hopefully) i want the game for i ALREADY paid for to be fixed. Untill that, i really hope Gearbox fails unless they blow me away with duke nukem and get AT LEAST a 9/10 rating, if not im not buying nor will i even look at gearbox again, i rather find a old N64 and duke nukem game to play, or get a xbox and get one from the online market thing there cause i heard they have the old duke nukem game there.
