Turn Undead -> Banish Undead

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 2:37 am

Bumped from a PM I received.

Turns out, this spell isn't so safe for companions. NPCs still consider this spell effect as offensive magic, so they'll get aggressive on the player if they are hit with it. NPCs also can't use the spell, unless you enchant it on a weapon for them.

If you're wondering how this works, all it really does is that the script on the undead creature checks for the turn undead effect, and then checks to see how much the flee AI value changed to apply damage, since turn undead is checked against magicka resistance, and increases the flee AI one point per point of magnitude. It was a perfect way to gauge spell strength for this effect. Plus it doesn't change the flee aspect either, so it's more of a bonus than an outright replacement of the spell effect.

Could you make a version of this that works for the Ward of Akavir mod? There are just so many Skeletons there, it's insane!

I can repost it if you like, however it was mostly a proof of concept. It works by all means, but the undead would sometimes fall through the floor when they perish under the spell.

Well, I think I could live with that ;) And I'd be grateful if you could reupload it.

Triple ditto! My necromancer really needs something like this to make herself feel like a badass. Taking them out one by one isn't as satisfying.

Should be 'BanishUndead.zip' or 'Banish_Undead.zip'. I tend to remove underscores unless they're used to separate a version number from the name.

Archive only contains one file - 'Banish Undead.esp' dated 2009-09-21 20:16
