Turning quickly causes major stutter

Edit - Oh, the clips show you who two of the companions are, just in case you consider such things spoilers. They are basically the first two you find though.

I'm going to chuck the other problem I'm having in this thread as well because I REALLY want to know WTF is going on...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fwco3oJ8AJI

Well, outright it would seem to be a memory issue. Either you have too little RAM ot its too slow.

4GB of Corsair Dominator PC8500-C5D

Definitely not a speed or lack of capacity issue. The game barely goes over 1GB used.

Set water multisampling to low.

You are a [censored] genius...do you know how long I've been trying to find a fix for that. Been playing Fallout 3 for a year with that bloody stutter, but it's been impossible to find a solution because everytime you try and find information on a stutter in a Bethesda game you just get a million threads about the 64hz micro stutter thing and memory leaks :banghead: Would be nice if it didn't make the water look so crappy, but man I can live with that if I can actually turn around without a 2 second wait.

Thanks :D

Now I just need to figure out what the hells going on with my volume and I'm golden.

By the way, any idea what's going on there? Why does the water multisampling cause stuttering in Goodsprings? It's about as far from water as you can get in New Vegas.

Could you please share what mods you have running in that video?! Especially love the 3rd person centered camera, and the smaller pipboy.

Because every cell has water in it regardless of landscape elevation.

That makes just as little sense. If every cell has water in it then why doesn't it stutter in every cell, including ones where I can actually see water.

Edit - Also, what are you talking about? Where is there water in every cell? I assumed you meant the game drew a water level under all the cells but I checked, it doesn't

because the game is loading/streaming the surrounding areas. that's not a stutter, that's just normal no matter what game you play. and don't play in third person, it svcks

First, I was only using in third person to spin the camera, second even if that wasn't the case don't tell people what their preferences are, lastly it's got nothing to do with streaming the surrounding areas, it's a bug as Stendarrtiator already pointed out. If I change the water multisampling from medium to low it completely stops, I can spin the camera at 1000 RPM with a constant 60 FPS.
