Now for some explanation. A while back I asked in this section what would happen if you reached the edge of Daggerfall's map. Was there an invisible wall? Did it just go on forever with randomly generated terrain? Nobody could give me an answer because, with the map being so large, they never came close to reaching the border. Well yesterday I attempted to start Daggerfall again (I had never escaped the first dungeon before), and with the help of the invincibility cheat I was able to clear that dungeon and make it to Daggerfall. Before I started to actually play the game, I wanted to find out the answer to my question, so I traveled to Buckingham Grange, the northwestern most town in Northmoor, and headed towards the coast. Even with the cheat for 6x running speed activated, it still took a few minutes to reach! But once I got there (after the jarring instant transition between the mainland's texture and the coast's texture), and headed north for a bit, I was disappointed to find that there's simply an invisible wall blocking you from going any further. I went back to the mainland and made sure the invisible wall was there as well, and sure enough, it was. So I think it's safe to assume that this is the case for every border in the game. Note that when you hit the invisible wall, you don't get a pop-up message like you do in Oblivion, you simply stop moving.
I'm happy to finally have an answer to this question, and now that I know what the border's like, I'll move on to enjoying the actual game.
