Turok 2: Seeds of Evil

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:04 pm

Does anyone, anyone at all, remember http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TCslzBeYOA masterpiece of an FPS? I also loved Turok the Dinosaur Hunter and Turok: Rage Wars. However, everything after Turok: Rage Wars (Turok III: Shadow of Oblivion+) was "meh" quality. Especially the new one for Xbox 360/PS3/PC.

Yep. It was quite an excellent game, even if you did sometimes go two hours without a save point.

Awesome soundtrack, but I'd wander around for hours not knowing what the hell I was supposed to do.

Yeah, I was never really the "use cheats for any reason" type.

The best looking game on the N64 right after Conker's Bad Fur Day. These two games pushed the console to its limits. :D

I loved Turok 1, Turok 2 and really liked Rage Wars. I bought Turok 3, but it svcked. A lot. Bad voice acting, bad story, bad gameplay. The multiplayer maps were way too small.
Some Turok 1-2 levels had a great atmosphere, both in terms of sound/music and visually.

Turok 1's Temple in the first world with the masked warriors was quite scary when I played it.
Thanks for the link. Turok 1 and 2's soundtrack are awesome.

Just found my favourite song from Turok 1:

The most fun I had was using the in-game cheats. Especially the Slow-mo one.

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil always use to scare me when I was younger. And I still remember the River of Souls level to this very day.

Remember it? Hell, I still play it. I still play Dinosaur Hunter and Rage Wars too. Those three plus Perfect Dark were (and still are) some of my favorite N64 games.

Turok 2 was the first of the series I played and also the first FPS I ever played. I fell in love. Until about the third level when I was fighting goblins and aliens and things like that. That's pretty much how I feel about the entire series. I love the beginning when I'm fighting dinosaurs, then I lose interest when things go nuts. They're great though, just a personal preference cuts my enjoyment short. :(

God, I know that feeling.

I'm currently playing through it. I never have beaten it. Ever. My brother and I only ever played multiplayer or used cheats in single player. You could also do a cool thing with multiplayer cheats where, if you used bewareoblivionisathand (ultimate cheat, unlocks all cheats), you can teleport to levels. Well, if you use the cheat during a multiplayer game, all the players teleport as well! Coop, right there in the game!

I have always loved the n64 series of Turok games. Some of my favorites from the system. It is amazing that they were able to pull these games off on the system. The first 2 games definitely outdid Goldeneye, in my opinion.

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil was one of the best games on the 64 next to Turok, I didn't care for 3 or Rage Wars. My favorite level was Slaughter by the River of Souls---2nd level to be exsat mostly because I love the music in that level. My favorite weapon was the Shredder, Flamethrower, Razor Wind and Mag. 60.

My least favorite Turok games where Turok: Evolution and Turok on the 360 and PS3.

Agreed. The series really lost it's way after a while. Though I actually quite like Shadows of Oblivion. Not as much as the originals though. Wish that reboot a couple years ago actually worked out. Wasn't a good direction to take the series in.

Turok 2 still remains one my most coveted FPS games ever. I wish 1 and 2 would be released on XBLA and PSN.

And yes, the latest Turok blew. I hope the studio that made it never makes another.
