When I got my 42" for my bedroom, it was a pretty substantial improvement over my old 28". Granted, I was going from 480p on Component to 1080p on HDMI (or 720p for most 360 content) as well, but it's particularly noticeable when piloting an Apache in Bad Company 2 as I can see players on the ground MUCH easier. I went back to my old TV for a week when my newer one needed to be serviced, and I didn't even want to play most of my games the change was so drastic.
I totally agree with this. I play on a 22" LG monitor on 1920 x 1080 HD and that difference really became noticeable when I had to drop down to 480p for recording on my PVR (I have since fixed that problem, only to have the XCM converter box I bought break).
I bought the Astro A40 + mixamp set and I absolutely love it. I use those headphones for EVERYTHING and they are still going 2 years strong. Also, if you guys thought that headsets were cheap in CoD, then you should try Halo:
1. There's no one using Ninja Pro.
2. The footsteps as well as things like lifts are incredibly noticeable. I can hear a guy picking up a power-up all the way across the map on Guardian (Halo 3).
