Turtle beach's

Are they going to help you at all in brink like they do in MW2? I am hoping you are going to be able to hear the foot steps or that guy climbing up the wall behind you . it would svck if my $100 headphones were pointless in brink.

Most headphones, Turtle Beach or not, will give you better overall emergent sound over speakers.

BRINK's soundscape is specifically designed to support proper sound-hardware.

I don't think that situations such as this would happen often. It happened in MW2 where everyone was practically a lone wolf and would run around the whole map. In Brink, this won't be the case. In most cases you're going to have a buddy with you working / helping with objectives. While I'm not entirely sure that'll happen either.

The way the maps are designed in Brink (and other SD games) it kinda "forces" the action all in one place - at the objective.

Honestly it does not matter what we think. We'll have to wait for the game to come out to know for sure. Thank got it's only about two weeks away.

I don't think sound prostitution will do much in Brink. The maps are relatively focused, and you'll usually be traveling in groups anyway unless you're playing all sneaky like.

Having better sound then the other guy always gives you more awareness and a advantage.

Will you hear more then a person using regular speakers? Yes. In fact they have even stated the different body type's footsteps sound different to give advantage to those really listening.

Will this help tactically as much as MW or other games? I have no idea, but I guess less then other games, but still an advantage over regular sound.

just as a modded controller gives you a higher fire rate and an advantage over the other guy.
im sorry but some turtle beaches are rediculous. its like having uav. when im sneaking up behind a guy with cold blooded & ninja pro about to knife him. and he turns around and kills me because he had a high end headset its a little unfair. if anything. they should find a way to eleminate turtle beaches. theyr not really fair to the guy who dosent have one. now give everyone a pair and then it would be fine. not to :flamethrower: the people who use them. i just think they are a little unfair.

In that case they need find away to eliminate HD big screens that give ppl a advantage. Because i know with my 55inch LED i see a hell of alot more then i did on my 32inch tube tv.

actually, me and most of the people i hang out with play just fine on our 28-32 inch screens. i got a 50" in my living room. and ive tried to play on it. i actuallly do worse. i dont see any more than i usually do and i have to focus on more surface area. so my vision is split and it is harder to keep track of the battle.

Turtle Beach headphones will improve the sound quality of your gaming experience. Up the sound quality, and that amplifies any advantage sound gives you. That being said, the answer is obviously "yes". I always compare in extremes, so consider the difference between playing a muted game and playing one that fills the room with sound. No doubt you'll get some advantage when you can hear better, so you'll get some advantage when you use Turtle Beach headphones.

But do you really take your performance in a video game that seriously? It's a video game.

Heck even the clothes will sound different. Also silent footsteps cancels anyone noise from walking or clothes.

1. Turtle Beach is a brand. The general word for them are headsets. (I like Steelseries over Turtle Beach anyway)
2. They will be great for this game. Just don't buy a pair over 100$ because there isn't much improvement except in price.

Who cares, they sound good. I used them for MAG initially and you could hardly even hear footsteps in that game, but it still made it all that more immersive.

When I got my 42" for my bedroom, it was a pretty substantial improvement over my old 28". Granted, I was going from 480p on Component to 1080p on HDMI (or 720p for most 360 content) as well, but it's particularly noticeable when piloting an Apache in Bad Company 2 as I can see players on the ground MUCH easier. I went back to my old TV for a week when my newer one needed to be serviced, and I didn't even want to play most of my games the change was so drastic.

Oh, and because I'm curious and kinda into TVs - what model do you have DrunK?

1. True, but Turtle Beaches are definitely the most recognizable brand when it comes to gaming. I do agree with you though.
2. Unless you consider moving from Stereo to 7.1 or moving from wired to wireless a small improvement, I beg to differ. Both were pretty big selling points for me when I got my X41s.
