If you think this is bad you should read some books and there you will find a more graphic experience than any movie or game will ever be able to show or tell.

Yes, although it's never clearly stated, it's heavily implied that Vampires such as Serana and Valerica underwent this ritual. I'm more curious how the male Vampire Lords get their power..
I see no problem with this as I have the ability to distinguish fantasy from reality. Poisonings do occur in real life but I am not likely to cause one purely because it happens in a video game.
If video games caused a severe change in mentality the last 4 versions of GTA would have killed thousands.
Everyone relates to the realism of video games, movies, etc. in different ways. Maybe the OP isn't as desensitized as the majority of the rest of us. Not reason at all to talk down to him/her.
OP: some quests in various games have sketched me out in the past as well; it shouldn't be a big deal if you skip it. Judged on the responses you're receiving, it doesn't look as if anything will change in the future though
I think you are correct. If only because it's good game design, and anything involving morality inherently makes it a question of choice.
Weird that was the only option though. In summerset Isle I had a quest with some seized prisoners; having the option (apparenty; I chose the faster for one evil) to open a portal to oblivion or whatevs to save them free, or to kill 'em outright.
Hello Kitty! Island Adventure is sure to not offend.
You are correct as far as I know.
And that lore book is exactly about what you think it is; Vivec and Molag Bal having intimate moments. It didn't end well.
This is correct, at least as far as females go, in order to become a daughter of coldharbor (pureblood) you have to be "taken" by Molag Bal.
Let me just say. It's appalling how much [censored] the OP receive in this thread. Respect him as a man looking on the good side of things. If you had a brain you'd see it'd only benefit you as good game design as well... oh well.
I haven't watched sundays TWD yet, is it that good?
I think the line between fantasy and reality should never "merge" because they are two distinct areas of existence, and theres a big red line drawn between them. You crossed that line when you started talking about the lives of fantasy computer people being sacrificed as if they were real breathing people. My character was "killed" more than a few times in Cyrodiil this past beta, but he lives, for now until he's crushed under the leaving beta bus. Will you petition also for my characters well being?
On a related story, I got an ad at the bottom of the screen that just says "Mental Health" this thread is creepy as hell, Im leaving now.
Everyone have that "ad". I think.... LOL
Edit: I can't imagine it'd do me any good anyhow. It's targeted at US citizen. Most of your "homeless". 70ish percent has mental health issues.... not that I'm homeless. I live in another country =P
I walked by a rabbit, and shot it with an arrow. Someone call PETA
One of two ways
1) His wife bite him
OR
2) Harkon took it in the behind by Molag Bal....
Take your pick....
I think a level headed normal advlt (whom the game is rated for) can decide what is too far and what is not. It shouldn't be for me or you to decide that. This is intellectual property of the developer and they have decided to allow us access to it for a fee. If you do not agree with the subject matter you can boycott it or choose to play the subject matter that conforms to your personal tastes/morals/convictions and such and such.
Censoring something because you feel it goes "too far" when an active majority disagrees with you tends to make you the opinionated one
Not to say that is your intentions. I won't put words in your mouth.
*I should also add, that I do get what you're saying and I can respect it. There are plenty of things in game that I certainly wouldn't have anything to do with should it be a real life situation.
Pseudonym....I decided I like you...lol.
All those posting replies to this topic have valid points (in my opinion)...
Be assured I am not attacking anyone personally, nor anyones' opinions and neither the game.
however...it is my hope I got you all thinking about more than just game mechanics.
They (who-ever they are) say we are what we are eating. Maybe we are also what games we are playing...and maybe we are not.
Who knows? I do not and I do not pretent to know.
Have fun and consider what you are accepting of and what not.
Happy days Questing
I think for some people at least, it's not so black and white. It's also important to note that a lot of fiction can have real world implications; someone with a daughter for example might be put of by the mutilation of children more than someone who doesn't. Sure, it's all fiction and we should take it as such, but there's something to be said for certain boundries that shouldn't be crossed, at least not so brazenly.
Hey Chirru I thought you were Alderai Dominion.
You were in my Cyrodiil and made a group. I remember you.
Edit: As for me? Every single time I can choose an option to let someone live, or to show mercy, no matter what I take it.
Except one quest didn't give me the option because I never learned persuade or intimidate, because I didn't know how, so I had to kill a crazy hermit, sadly.
No.
I respect a well thought out argument. And that's not what we got.
Really? This is a Fantasy game... I'm sure you didn't have to do the quest.... Your ok with warewolves and Vampires committing willful murder, but not this?
I did enjoy the question of "Where do fantasy and reality merge?" from the OP.
If you do feel that your fantasy and reality are merging, there may be some psychiatric terms that might explain things better.
It's implied that Harkon had to sacrifice 1000 souls to recieve vampirism directly from Bal
thanks for your compassionate reply
However, first of all... I am not male;
secondly; I am not offended by any of the comments to my post being made;
because thirdly... I intentionally stirred the pot.
I knew from the start exactly what the response to my comments would be.
Indeed, I expressively asked for people's opinions..even if they disagreed with my opiniated opinion.
How So? Seems to me he wanted to do good in that situation. He wanted to have an option. Which equal good game design. That's the best argument there is on a game board....
@ Chirru
Oh for sure. Don't take my response as an unconditional defence. I'm sure you don't need it. It's merely a reflection for my own sentiments to ignorance.
