Two centuries is a long time.

So Skyrim is supposed to be set 2 centuries into the future, obviously that is a long time and one would expect a lot would have changed but what can we expect? Will we see the world take a leap forward in regards to technology? Perhaps new factions have come into power? What do you hope to see?

Nah technology has been stable for thousands of years, I don't expect much difference.

Obviously there are the 2 Nord factions that are fighting the civil war.

I expect no new technology, but by setting it two centuries in the future and saying they have one king instead of one per city-state, they have definitely thrown everything we knew before under the bus. Not that it's bad, it might be fine. I'd say they REALLY wasted Oblivion by not setting Skyrim the very week after Oblivion ended. Oblivion wasn't the perfect game, but it was the perfect setup to Skyrim if they had the balls to take it and run with it.

If I pointed out the obvious, people would have a hard time getting it. Technology will not evolve.

I believe in the Infernal City it talked about how the Mages Guild had disbanded
I hope that’s not true though :(

What is the lifespan of a wood elf?

Well theirs a whole lot of ways things could of changed especially in the political aspect eg. Dunmer aren't as dominant because of past events.

Setting the game 200 years in the future means that almost all the lore we have on anything is outdated. I've been saying with the mages guild that an empire-wide structure won't break down overnight, but 200 years means that guild is freaking gone. Really.

lots of things have changed. people have rediscovered the lost arts of dual wielding and smithing although they forgot how to do mysticism.

I really hope that the politics of Skyrim aren't overly-simplified because of that, because it has so much potential. Still, Civil War - that's already sounding intriguing.

As for new technology, they said there's not much technology in Skyrim so that the magic really stands out.

But the Guild has been around for a few thousand years, and gone through multiple empires. I will be disappointed if they are not in Skyrim

Is it lore friendly to believe werewolves can be immortal too?
Because I'm using the werewolf excuse to bring back my main character :)

I heard that the argonians were wiped out in the war with the dark elves and thats why we wont be able to play as them, guess it would have been silly to have a cold blooded race roam the cold north anyway.

Am I missing something? There are 10 playable races.

The Argonians won that war, though they suffered substantial losses from Umbriel
Where did you hear that they would not be playable

Wasn't it the other way round, after the MiniTrue splats Vivec the Argonians get their revenge on, forcing the rest of the Dunmer to migrate to Solstheim, no doubt delighting the local Skaal. Infernal City's canonicity will be put to the test given the timespan, IC being set ~40 years after Oblivion.

All this is academic, however - all 10 races are confirmed playable. Probably will be some established Dunmer refugee strongholds in the east, or something.

Well for that matter, the only game that ever got close to perfect would be Daggerfall then. Morrowind had the perfect main story but it had terrible gameplay while Oblivion had good gameplay and great sidequest depth but lacked in main quest line detail but it was a great concept if only they had fleshed it out more. Skyrim I believe the will have the main story line of Morrowind with the stellar side quests that made Oblivion win my heart.
