I wouldn't say it's a major slip, I don't think Todd's in his office right now saying "WHAT DID YOU JUST DO"!!!!!.

I like that Jumping has been at least confirmed although as to what scale in comparasion to Oblivion is too early to say.

I was pretty sure that jumping would be in but bumping into people should be pretty cool. In Oblivion, if an NPC was blocking s doorway or stopped in your path you could just push them like 10 ft and they wouldn't even notice. Now your big burly fighter can plow through those puny villagers if they're standing in your path.

I assumed that jumping and bumping was in from the start.

But you shouldn't come to such conclusions by what a dev says about a different game, even if it is another RPG.

Actually, I think the bumping part is just a confirmation of prostitution. My character will be a master bumper. :hubbahubba:

I appreciate OP for bringing this up. The part about jumping is less a confirmation of jumping and more a confirmation of jumping onto roofs. As in jumping higher that normal NPCs. As in perks to increase jump height. Which many people thought wouldn't be in, since "all perks are for skills."

Thanks OP!

ther's another thing that bothers me it seems that every time a new elder scrolls game comes out people ask will there be new races to choose from or will we see the same races from the game before why do people ask that the same races have been in every game since the begining why would that change it.

I dont think he meant fail towards you, but fail toward the silly thread you linked to. As in that thread is fail.

Also as far as Vsions getting in trouble by implying that you can jump in Skyrim is quite humorous. Im sure his job is still quite safe.

Now, the implication that you can jump high enough to walk on roofs is very interesting and quite good news(if true). That would imply a mechanic for achieving said height, probably perks?

edit: my goodness my grammer is bad!

Jumping... yeah, what a surprise. Athletics was also removed, does that mean we can't run? Seriously...

Bumping into people... not a big surprise either. Every game has it now and have had it for several years.

If I were vsions I wouldn't like if people copied what I said and posted a thread about it in anology, seeing as vsions was actually speaking of an entirely different thing, namely Witcher 2 being more static than Skyrim.

Apparently not in Witcher 2, which is funny, because you could bump into people in Witcher 1...

I'm fine with bumping into people as long as i don't obtain a bounty like in Two worlds 2.

Assassin's Creed has bumping into people, why not Skyrim?

jumping was already confirmed.

todd mentioned it in passing when he explained that Acrobatics skill has been removed

it would have been more shocking to remove jumping.

as for what "bumping into people" means, I guess this means beyond just clipping or pushing NPCs by walking toward them, maybe this suggests they have a responsive animation if you bump into them.

did people seriously think you wouldn't be able to jump? i mean what the hell.

Apparently some at least feared that possibility because of no acrobatics in the game, apparently neglecting to consider that not every RPG that has jumping has a skill for it.

And bumping into people isn't that hard to do, I'd assume that it's simply a matter of them reacting when you come in contact with them, and I know Oblivion didn't do that, but lots of other games have, and it wouldn't exactly be a thing to be surprised about if Skyrim can do it too. That said, we probably shouldn't get into the habit of taking a developer's thoughts on the different game as confirmation of features in Skyrim.

Taking my thoughts on another game a little out of context. Not to mention its generaly not a good idea to post something so vague as a confirmed feature or anything of that sort as it makes it less likely a dev will share insight into what it takes to make a game or join a discussion. Jumping has already been talked about by Todd so its nothing new. As far as jumping on roofs, well you guys always find a way to get yourselves into trouble in Tamriel so we have to consider that is all Im saying :)

Sorry vsions... Just trying to show people on the forums that though jumping wasn't gonna be in, that it is in... I didn't mean to take your words and spin them around... You're like, my favorite dev man, I wouldn't do that :(

You can push NPCs in Oblivion by running into them, so I wasn't expecting them to be static in the first place. Hopefully this time though, merchants will react after I spend three minutes trying to push them into the basemant so I can loot their store. :P
