Two new little bits of info!

Post » Mon Aug 16, 2010 9:49 pm

Kinda a given, but just though y'all should know!

Well unfortunatwly Im not really sure how much I can say or delve too deeply but....

In witcher everything is pretty much static so physics are probably not as inensive for the most part, you cant jump or reach alot of areas. We have to consider that a player can jump on the roof of a house and whatnot. npcs are pretty static and most of them dont really interact. you cant really bump them or interrupt them. Then there is also the time it takes to populate a large fully explorable world rather than a focused area, so resources are something to consider. You cant loot bodies, they also dissapear immediately. Most doors are locked and cannot be openned ever. I mean there is a ton more Im not covering but I figure I can share a little insight from a devs perspective. That being said I do think Witcher 2 is doing some great things and am really enjoying it when I have a little time.

Jumping and bumping into people confirmed? I hope this doesn't get you in trouble vsions... Cause, ya know........ Olivejuice.

I assumed that jumping and bumping was in from the start.

But you shouldn't come to such conclusions by what a dev says about a different game, even if it is another RPG.

Whoa whoa whoa, guys... The thread here is about how we now CONFIRMED that jumping and interrupting people (by bumping into them) is in! What's with the rage? The quote was pulled from another thread though, wasn't sure if that was against the rules... But still, I know there were a few threads about how jumping might not be in, and now their fears are calmed! Come in guys... This is like, my first thread ever... :(

Yeah, twas a pretty large thread, but bumping into people sounds pretty good, right mate? I knew jumping was in, if we could swim, then that means they would of gone the length to put in jumping, vertical axis FTW!!!

Any info that is relesed without todd's say so could compramise the uniqueness of the flow of info which beth has kept their mouths shut. Posting this could get people in trouble, However since Vsions could have had Todd come over and approve this post it could also be completely fine.

Bumping into people isn't exactly a ground-breaking idea. It's been in games for years. Vsions can't get in trouble from this.

I get that its your first thread. I just started yesterday......Its just that it seems so obvious that it seems redundant. witch is why I asked if it was really necessary -_- .

Jumping... yeah, what a surprise. Athletics was also removed, does that mean we can't run? Seriously...

Bumping into people... not a big surprise either. Every game has it now and have had it for several years.

If I were vsions I wouldn't like if people copied what I said and posted a thread about it in anology, seeing as vsions was actually speaking of an entirely different thing, namely Witcher 2 being more static than Skyrim.

I would be all for bumping into people. Yep. Barging into NPC Villagers and watch them tumble to the ground as their items fly through the air.
The Old lady leaning on the porch in the screenshot? Bam!

Yeah I like the idea of bumping.

Will drinking mead stutter the camera, so it's harder to avoid bumping into people? I must know this, it is very important to immersion! Will bumping horses also be featured?
