Two questions concerning settlements

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 8:31 am

I was wondering, i have the Local Leader perk and i set up two supply lines between my three settlements. When i enter build mode i can use all the resources because they are now shared between settlements, the only thing i cant use is all the stuff that i put in the workbench in Sanctuary Hills. Am i misunderstanding the perk? I thought that i could access all the stuff i have in my workbench in every settlement if there was a supply line, but this doesnt seem the case. Am i doing something wrong? Its really annoying to have to go back to Sanctuary everytime i need a different weapon etc.

My second question is, can i rally all teh settlers in a settlement together so i can see what they are assigned to/assign them instead of having to run around my settlement trying to find every single one of them?

Thanks!

Build the bell. Ring it and they all gather 'round.

Only building materials are shared through the local leader perk and only in build/crafting mode.

Nope, that's the way it works. Workshops share crafting materials and (in a way) food and water. Doesn't work on guns or armour or things like that.

I think you only see shared raw materials. not whole weapons or items.

Supply lines share junk, food and water. Also it's only shared if you are, planting, repairing, building or modding.

As others have said, junk and aid items only, remember that its only available while you're in build mode.

As far as I understand it you won't see the shared workshop materials when you press square... (or the equivalent) But the materials will be there when you enter Workshop mode... When you click on an item you want to build the number of raw materials shown it takes to build it will have increased...

Even with supply lines, you can only access scrapped material (steel, oil, screws, etc.) from the junk, but not the junk itself (desk fan, oil can, etc.). And you can access such scrapped material in workshop build mode only. You also have no access to weapons, apparel, ammo, etc.

Other people have pretty much answered this already but ....

Supply lines let you utilise the 'raw materials' between all linked settlements.

Raw materials are individual components ( i.e steel, cloth, copper ) AND junk items ( i.e hot plate, toy car, ashtray ) that can be broken down in to components (in build mode, these items will automatically be broken down in to components when needed)

This also applies to food and water, but only when they are used for crafting or planting crops.

Weapons, armours, misc items, ammo and aid items are not accessible in this way.

Items from one settlements stock, will not visually 'appear' in another settlements stock ( after pressing the transfer action and viewing the subsequent list ), but, they are shown as being available to use as materials when in 'build mode'.

Also to note, you cannot store, for example, a water purifier in one settlements stock and then use it at a different settlement. Stored crafted or scavenged ( chemistry benches, sofas, bed etc.) items cannot be accessed between settlements.
