Two women companions? Really?

Really disappointed so far in the companions. It is almost as if they put no effort at all into it. You have two women companions against how many male companions? And those two are about as bland as they come. Literally boring. Where is the drama, the intrigue? Where are the Morrigans? Where are the ones that make you think. And looks wise they are garbage. Not looks as in the need to be super models, but come on Cait... run a brush through your hair. It is almost as if the did not do their jobs because modders would do it for them. Bland, just mediocre and stale.

Three. Do Curie's personal quest.

Cait's also a psycho junkie, brushing her hair is the least of her concerns. If it bothers you that much, and assuming you're on PC, you can change their looks.

And the strong doesn't count as male, since humans lose their gender when they become super mutants.

Xbox one unfortunately. Hopefully the modding on console works as advertised.

Why would people who have to scraqe out a living in a radioactive, monster and raider filled post apocalyptic wasteland care about being perfectly primped and styled? Morrigan's look in DA:O made zero sense. Here's a person that lives alone with her mother in a chilly swamp and she wears full makeup, styled hair, and makes sure to show off a ton of skin despite the cold. The way people look in Fallout is more realistic.

I agree with you about the bland personalities, but compared to the companions in Fallout 3, Oblivion, and Skyrim it's a huge improvement.

"No effort?" Seriously? These are by far the best, most in depth companions I've ever seen Bethesda create. Not on Bioware's level, sure, but certainly on par with some of the great modded ones out there. Thing is, you actually have to spend time with them. At least with the ones I've used, I had to gain their approval and do their quests before they were willing to tell me their life story, and I noticed that their exploration banter became more varied at that point as well. And if attractiveness is the issue (as that seems to be a large part of your rant there), while I personally think both Piper and Cait are quite pretty, there's always mods later. And I don't know if you noticed, but none of the guys exactly look like they stepped out of GQ either, except maybe Danse, but personally I find him too generic.

I was very impressed with the companions. they all had unique voice acting, were very distinct, and had interesting back stories. now I will admit the 3 to 7 ratio of female to male is a wee bit skewed and I wont defend that, 4 to 6 and I would not have much of a problem. but I am impressed with the overall quality of them and how different they are from one another. they are actually people and not just companions for the sake of companions. plus I actually love the accents, I married Cait and keep Curie around.

and PS given all Cait has been through running a brush through her hair could not be any less of a priority.

Technically Nick Valentine is neither male nor female. Since he's a synth. Sure he appears male but that's pretty much it. Not like you can have children with synths. And as stated Strong doesn't have a gender. Not to mention the Handies. Codsworth and Curie are both robots. Yes you can romance Curie not sure why Codsworth can't be romanced but there's four non humanoid companions.

One was annoying as hell and disappointed the other wasn't hotter but I actually prefer fewer women companions
