Types of Accents?

New Zealand accent lets you "DIY" objectives your class can't normally complete - but with delays - a non-Operative hack takes triple the normal time to complete, a non-Soldier bomb has a 2 minute timer, etc.

And you have no mini-map, because we're used to much smaller cities than the Ark, and get lost easily in large built-up places :celebration:

The Ark is actually a pretty small place. It was only meant to house 5000 people. That's not many

Anybody know which accent says "Mucho bad guys spotted!" Because I hear that in pretty much every video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_CykYOy6Lw it's used three times, first ones at 45 sec.

I'm pretty sure that's the african-american guy, not sure about his name.

I did sort of call on the voices up-thread.. :toughninja:
Damian O'Hare (Fairly strong Northern Irish accent, notably the guy in the Choir of Guns trailer with the vest and dark hair/beard rallying his team)
Ray Shell (sounds African American)
Alec Newman (he's Scottish but doesn't portray a Scotch accent IMO, sounds more American Hollywood-movie style from the snippet)
Jimmy Akingbola (he's British and sounds British, of Nigerian descent)
David Yip (English guy, of Chinese descent, normally has a strong posh English accent but puts on an odd Asian/eastern European accent I think)
Dhafer L'Abidine (Sounds like South African come Caribbean at times, strange one to describe as well)
Ryan McCloskey (Sounds American, not sure which state)
Richie Campbell (Not really sure.. might be S.African? I can never work out that accent either way)...

Pretty sure you guys are all just silly trying to seek out specific accents. The Ark has been a melting pot for yeeeaaars, I think any truly identifiable accents would go out the window.

Not quite sure why you're still speculating..

These are the official voice actors you can choose from during customisation and their accents.

Judging from leaked videos, the choices are: American, Irish, Scottish, Chinese, and four variations of African accents.

Any racism aside, I don't particularly find any African accent attractive so I'm left with four...

Again, (search these voice actors to see their origin, I'm 90% close on them all, it's impossible to define a couple because they're a mix of accents in one vocal but the rest are certs)

Damian O'Hare (Northern Irish)
Ray Shell (African American)
Alec Newman (he's a Scottish actor but portrays a sort of American movie-style accent)
Jimmy Akingbola (English accent - of Nigerian descent so he sounds black)
David Yip (Asian/Mix - he's normally got a strong English accent, but makes up an accent for the game and it has a bit of Asian in there I believe)
Dhafer L'Abidine (Tunisian actor, although portrays a unique accent which sounds a mix of S.African/N.African)
Ryan McCloskey (American)
Richie Campbell (Carribean/African/American style)

I'm pretty sure there is a Russian/Eastern European accent in the game Check out the container city part 3 video at the end there are three guys (2 white 1 black) 1 white guy wearing a beret seems to talk in a american accent the black guy talks in a seemingly south african accent but the shaved haired other white guy "I'm betting on the leaflets and a rusty pistol" seems to talk in a russian accent.

There may be several more accents in the game than the listed eight voice packs you can choose from.

Or perhaps when you pick Security or Resistance there are slight alterations on each voice by each voice actor, hence not naming the accents/origins and just naming the voice actors.

I listed those actors' names from the customisation screen I watched when a guy was creating a Security character. Perhaps when you choose Resistance there are slight variants on the accents - which would make sense because you wouldn't like both factions to have identical dialogue and accents.

I was almost certain there'd be a Russian accent from watching the trailers like yourself, but on that customisation screen I saw it definitely wasn't there. Best to ask zombiespy or someone who has access to the game.

Hey I noticed something in the new trailer today, does the guy addressing the security before Mokoena shows up have a russian accent?

I await the response of zombiespy (or anyone who actually has the game) to confirm these theories..

I hope so.

But having read up on the eight actors you can pick from, none are Russian. Actually thinking about it, there are a lot more accents in the cinematics/story that aren't present in-game.

BTW, what time is it in the US? Not long now before you punks get your Brinkage.
