Types Of Dragons In Skyrim

Post » Mon Jul 18, 2011 12:46 pm

Thats references to two of my ideas :D

1.Chameleon Dragons
2.Siren Dragons capable of luring you in by simulating humans/animals

Also i'm seriously in love with that Dwemer Mechanical Dragon thing, it would just be incredibly badass in everyway imaginable.

Yes, but what I am saying is that they should not be a special type of dragon like you are asking for that only does that one thing. Dragons are not animals, they are a race. Every dragon should be able to cast magic, and every dragons should in theory be able to look like a human.

^same

wouldn't mind knight dragon though... or the concept of a Dragon with plate mail on its already harder than metal body....

You mean an Armored Dragon then? Perhaps this version might be found in a cave, lair, etc. with minions (Slaves or worshipers) that work to protect and serve the dragon to its fullest needs, including protection obviously.

And to add onto the Earth Dragon idea earlier mentioned I'd imagine it would be lying flat, wings spread, along the ground (rocky, grass, or surrounded by trees) basically blending in. The only give-away of its presence would be the lack of grass around the parameter and inside of the area where the dragon is lying or hiding. This type of dragon would be very shout based, as in thundering roars, paralyzing or buffeting, rather than fire. A ground based beast as well, not taking to flight, but having short bursts of speed as which it may ram the hero. Perhaps stronger armor as well.

And to finally include also;
I believe that when Howard said that the Frost Dragon was a stronger dragon, it meant its size rather than its type. A large Fire Dragon would have the same potency as a Frost, depending on age. Older wyrms being larger and younger ones being smaller and less experienced.

Don't die yet topic! Live i say! Live!

I thought armored dragons should have to be attacked at their joints as weakpoints and after a couple of hits here they would die. Normal attacks on them would do very little or no damage.

Also! Venomous dragons? or is it to up north for that?

And! Dragon Hunting Faction - Fits in great with the story, and maybe theres even conflict between rebel and imperial hunters who want the dragons for their scales/bones

I only want what Bethesda puts in. because, to be honest, most of this stuff sounds like crap.

Well, if it's not "too up north" for dragons... I doubt whether if they're venomous or not will make a difference ... But, I'm sure that you may find a small faction of hunters who will try to hunt the beasts down... Sort of like a Knights of the Thorn group.

Well the forums are the main source of most peoples skyrim fix until 11/11/11, and this is just to brainstorm ideas that we like, i'm sure no matter what bethesda does it will be fantastic

I also think some quests should appeal more sympathetically to dragons if we want them too, for example

"Woman finds an injured baby dragon and asks you to find its mother"

You could find and slay its mother as well as the dragon(probably the woman too) for the souls,
but perhaps as an option you should be able to safely reunite the two and receive a reward and increased disposition from the woman, as well as with other members of the town, and perhaps decreased disposition with those who arent big fans of dragons. Perhaps finding the mother could lead to a word wall, or some other treasure you could only access depending on your decisions.

I really hope we dont see any mother or baby dragons. These are not animals remember, they are soldiers sent to invade by their god.
