Unless it becomes available to console then no, Skyrim is not on it's way to greatness.

Shouldn't this thread go in the mods forum? Its less likely to get trolled by console users there.

Yeah. I'd be upset. Though in this case the fault is with MS and Sony. Not to fan any flames, but this is one of the rare instances when console players are feeling left out in the cold. Those of us in the PC world have watched most of our favorite series move towards console-friendly design.

On topic, does anyone with that mod think that he has added too much? A lot of overhauls don't balance so much as add a bunch of uber items.

you know you're a huge nerd when you judge people based on what system they play the same game as you on

not everyone can afford to pay the price of an xbox for a graphics card that will run modern games
plus once you blow lots of money on a pc it becomes outdated in like 2 years unless you spend even more money one it
i'd rather pay 15 bucks for dlc than over a thousand for mods

So he's turning the game into World of Warcraft. No thanks.

I don't think you know what you're talking about.

At any rate, I'm currently downloading. Figure I'll give it a shot, since I haven't been playing the base game all that much lately. Might inject some excitement into it again.

Agreed. Plus, when did it become cool to put on your "Holier Than Thou" attitude for PC gaming? All this "Your loss" crap just makes you look like a dike. ALL content should be available to ALL players regardless of platform. Why should we be divided just because we choose different consoles or platforms to play the game on? We're all still Beth fans.

This IGN article shows that gaming on PC is actually cheaper than on consoles in the long run.

The mounts look incredibly glitchy and to tell the truth it looks more comical that impressive. It is not to my personal taste and I doubt I will ever try the modification, but that does not mean it is a bad mod. I am sure plenty of people like this sort of thing and it is quite a technical feat to accomplish such a thing considering we have no construction kit as of yet.

Also, TCFBbob watch your language please.

The guy is dishing out content for the sake of it. Just look at http://static.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/images/1601-3-1322681760.jpg Lore is getting wrecked terribly.

This mod is one of the most pathetic out there, and i'm a PC gamer.

Look, as a PC gamer I'm all for equality across platforms, but mods are developed by PC players for PC players. It seems silly that you complain about not having access to them when it's not up to either Bethesda or the modders. If you want to complain, take it up with Microsoft and Sony, or just buy a normal laptop and play on that. PC gaming is not as expensive as console players would like to imagine.

Oh, and if all content should be equally distributed, then why do Xbox 360 players have DLC exclusivity? :whistling:

yeah I'm not a fan of this - seems like he has just slapped together a load of stuff that doesn't really work as a cohesive whole

I don't think I've ever played a buggier game than Skyrim, and I'm pretty sure it's because it wasn't made for PC in the first place. I was never really worried, though, cause I know it'll all be fixed either by Beth or via mods. I do feel sorry for those who will never be able to experience these mods, though, and I also do wish Skyrim had been made for PC first, and then ported to console. It would have made it so much better to begin with. Now we just have to wait for mods instead.

because the console QA does not allow user content. simple as that. and you could have known: mods = pc only. you cannot use applications like the ck on a console. maybe with alot of effort and crapy controls...

This IGN article shows that gaming on PC is actually cheaper than on consoles in the long run.

so true. especially if you need a pc anyway. (and who doesn't?)

What's all this talk of PC gaming being expensive?

Man, I haven't lol'd at a forum in a while. I built my last system for oblivion, spent just under 800 dollars on it, and it lasted until a month ago, playing modern games just fine, with only one video card upgrade. That card was $200.

Meanwhile, console gamers are buying all the consoles and their games. When PS3 came out, if you had bought all the consoles and some games, you would have spent more than my 6 year-lasting beast of a PC costed, for a whopping 3-4 years of mediocre gaming.

Thus the reason for PC builders/gamers talking down to console [censored] when their troll/arrogance/whatever else gets annoying.

TL;DR: PC gaming is rediculously cheap with a good build and resisting the urge to upgrade all the time.

I'm totally ready to buy that opinion, because I'm leary of downloading any mods so soon after release. However, do you have any more examples other than that pic? That just seems like a cosmetic thing.

The Tytanis mod made my game experience several scores better.

Crafting arrows is a big one

actually making use of almost all objects in the game is another, its nice to actually have a use for Linen cloth, mammoth tusks, etc etc.

His mod page at the nexus has many more laughable examples.

I won't even bother to go through those mounts.

That's a little weird. I was also put off by the idea of those mounts.

I still like the idea of craftable arrows, though. I dunno. I guess I'll have to go look at the nexus.

It has some interesting stuff like that, but it adds so much ridiculous crap that's it's not worth it.

Read through the mod, it really says exactly what you get.

I would say 90% is purely cosmetic, and then there are a few gameplay changes, such as mounts and tweaks to perks and spells. Personally I'm not a fan of the gameplay additions, but everything that's purely cosmetic is a huge plus IMO. Vanilla came with so little variation that it made me sick of picking up the exact identical piece of weaponry or armor from every single bandit I killed before i hit lvl 10. This at least adds some variety, and then it's up to individual taste whether you like the cosmetic changes or not. The above example of Daedric armor isn't exactly my taste either, but that goes for some of the Vanilla gear too, so

It also just combines so many other mods that you don't have to download 20 different ones to get the same result.

Give it a try, you can always remove it again, and it hasn't messed anything up in my game or causes any crashes.
