Tytanis is god.

I appreciate the skill and dedication behind this mod but whenever I see so much being added so quickly, I get the feeling that all of this stuff can't be properly thought out. This is a kind of mod that requires a lot of planning since it meddles with so much stuff, I doubt it has consistency, balance and grounded justification in the world of TES.

Having said that though, I haven't tried it, so I could be wrong. It has interesting ideas and potential so I'm tracking it. Hopefully, it will slow down on new additions and get some polish and overall consistency.

You must keep in mind that Tytanis did all of this without the CK. Please people, KEEP IT IN YOUR MINDS. NO CK = HARD AS [censored] TO MOD THESE THINGS.
Amen.

Yep, that's why I said that I appreciate the skill and dedication put into it. Most modders seem to be waiting for better tools, this one isn't

Unless it becomes available to console then no, Skyrim is not on it's way to greatness.

You know it's not. The legal wrangling required to put player content onto XBL and the PS3 thingy is insane, and you knew when you bought the game it wouldn't be the case. Now's too late for sour graqes /rolleyes

Well, eventually more mods will come.

hardcoe mode - I'm hoping and waiting for this one
Skyrim almost bug-free - I don't have problem with bugs, but some people have.
Balanced leveling
New and unique creatures
Texture mods

And there is those DLCs.

This game will be much, much better next year for PC gamers.

But I hope Bethesda to make the game better for consoles too...
Using ideas from mods.

Well, I'd totally like those arrow ideas.

I shy away from the over the top mods. I always preferedd Francesco's overhaul to OOO for instance. I plan on making a few mods once the kit comes out, it will not depart terribly from Vanilla but instead try to enhance what is already there.

I agree, I don't understand why most people preferred OOO to Francesco's.

as a game modder i got a bit uppset by some of the comments in this thread.
we are not game developers and were not here to "fix" the game for you.
we do it for our own sake because we love to mod and want to improve our own games.

Has anyone downloaded his ultimate mod yet? I just did, and I cant believe the features he has added already

Sabertooth/Mammoth/Bear mounts (He says he is close to adding dragon mounts as well)
New amazing flavors of armor
Elemental arrows
ALOT of more recipes/crafting options

Those are just some of the best things I have seen yet

Skyrim is on its way to greatness :celebration: mods are here to save the day again

I have been keeping my eye on this one.

Yep, you're right. The criticism is to be expected though, considering the subject is "Tytanis is god" and the forum where this was posted is so heterogeneous. But yeah, I'm well aware that I'm not entitled to someone else's work to be just as I want it to be. Whether I like it or not, I'm very grateful for all the work that some people put into it and then share them for free with the community.

why, because you don't understand what great means? great mods don't make great games, they are simply great mods. if you have to mod a game to fix it or make it great its clearly not a great game, because if it was such a great game it wouldn't need anything done to it.

I actually have to agree.

All this, "mods will fix it." talk that gets thrown around here. Should they have to FIX anything? NO!

Will really good mods make it better? Sure.

Skyrim is less than it should be, for people to mod it to bring it up to where it should have been is kind of asinine and with the release of these buggy messes time after time it's almost like Bethesda just EXPECTS the community to make it better.

Even though I don't like a lot of stuff about this guy's mod, and won't be downloading it, I'm very glad that he's out there working his magic.

I just want more sets of (realistic) armor,....for instance, whatever happened to chain mail? I'd prefer that game baddies be wearing this stuff too.... so I can loot it.

There should be some full ranges of armor in this game, and it's gotten worse from that which we had even in Oblvion.

Leather armor, there should be probably 10 different appearing versions, as this was the most common.
Padded armor, there should be 5 versions
Chainmail, there should be 5 versions, some more crusade looking (Knights of the Nine?), and others with a combo of plate mail parts.
Studded/Scale, there should be 5-10 versions of this
Legionary/Stormcloak? Don't get me started on all the variations of armor the Romans had to choose from.
Plate mail, there should be about 15 versions, some on the low end of appearance, and other more ceremonial looking.
Historical armors? Not just roman stuff, but samurai armor, spanish armors, gladiator armors, etc. These would just be fun.
Shields? There's tons of unique things like Kite shields that should be available. Skyrim just gave everybody a simple round shield....boring! There needs to be 20 different shield types.
There should be something like 20 different helmets.

I was in an armor museum this past weekend, and Skyrim's armor choices are VERY disappointing.

Agreed. Plus, when did it become cool to put on your "Holier Than Thou" attitude for PC gaming? All this "Your loss" crap just makes you look like a dike. ALL content should be available to ALL players regardless of platform. Why should we be divided just because we choose different consoles or platforms to play the game on? We're all still Beth fans.

Ultimatley yes, you're right! The issue however is that this game was optimized for console (xbox) and THEN ported to the pc when it should the other way around. Therefore, pc users got shafted out of the game that we SHOULD have received.

BUT in playing all of the other elder scrolls games, I asw this coming and brought the pc version anyway because I knew that the modders will take care of that (as they always do).

I think Bethesda saw the Oblivion mods and said "screw it" as far as trying to create unique armor etc... and are just leaving it to the mod community. I always thought the OOO mod was amazing and made Oblivion a completely new experience and am looking forward to the same for Skyrim.

Having started my serious gaming playing the original Team Fortress Classic and concmaps many, many years ago, I have a great appreciation for modders and creators, but alas, I'm on the ps3. Sounds awesome though

Cool mod, and as an ex WoW addict, I do see the similarities considering you can get ALL of those mounts in WoW.
I'm a console gamer, ex PC gamer. Switched to consoles because I actually like playing games, instead of spending 100's of hours delving into textures, lighting, memory allocation, video card heat signature, etc.etc. I'm busy hunting dragons while you guys are stuck with figuring out your resolution...
Also I've had my 360 for 2 years, you PC gamers have probably had 4 video cards in the past 6 months.

All tytanis has done is flip a few switchs and tied a few knots.

More or less just hacking values in the files, since we cant edit them directly, ofcourse this would eventually lead to our own Creation kit, but theres no need for that.

Exactly. And way to ambitious, will likely cause many, many conflicts. Did you see the firewood list?

I have a copy of the game on 360 and I have a copy on the PC at my parent's house I have access to. So this post is not "sour graqes" or whatever the PC nut jobs are using to justify a fail.

A game should not rely upon modded content to have longevity, unless that game comes with modification tools in the box (such as LittleBigPlanet). None of the immortal classics that come to mind rely on modded content to be worthy of coming back to 5 or 10 years after their initial release.

The original Half-life had amazing modded content... but did it need modded content to provide an epic single player experience? No.

I like Skyrim a lot, and maybe it can win game of the year... this year didn't have any games that changed the face of their genre or the industry so perhaps it is the best of the worst, but it has to be judged on what it is, not what it can be. There's a reason that Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize for not doing anything was a joke.

The game is already awesome without mods and regardless of the platform on which it's played. Anyone who thinks otherwise would probably feel a lot better hanging out in the forums of games they do like.

Before it got hijacked by fan boys of all colors, this thread was about the nature and quality of one particular mod. If anyone has anything informative to say about that mod, I'd love to keep talking about it.

*edit* Even though the complete package of mods is too much, you can at least download and install the individual components. So, in addition to creating some interesting mods himself, Tytanis is helpfully gathering other useful mods together.

Wow all the hate in this thread. How anyone feels the need to go out of there way to hate on others preferences is beyond me. I don't even understand how your brain works that you need to bash something someone did with their free time just because "it isn't lore correct." Who woulda thunk that people like different mods. It's all about entertainment, this [censored] aint politics.

Look, as a PC gamer I'm all for equality across platforms, but mods are developed by PC players for PC players. It seems silly that you complain about not having access to them when it's not up to either Bethesda or the modders. If you want to complain, take it up with Microsoft and Sony, or just buy a normal laptop and play on that. PC gaming is not as expensive as console players would like to imagine.

Oh, and if all content should be equally distributed, then why do Xbox 360 players have DLC exclusivity? :whistling:

I think Microsoft paid Beth so 360 gets a month head start, but all platforms will get the same DLC.

And the other poster isn't attacking modders or Beth. Just saying she wishes all Beth fans could access the same content (or in console's case.. SOME of the content, since they can't handle some PC mods). And like you said, that's up to Sony/Microsoft. Once again, another trick is who tests the mods.

Half the stuff in that mod should have been in the game from Scratch, hell I even bought the PC copy just to try it. It's gotten me back into Skyrim again. Any PC user who hasn't got this mod is losing out, it makes for a whole new game.
