I have roamed the wasteland for several hours in search of a vendor who sells mini nukes but i have failed to find one i have come to a conclusion that i will not find a vendor who sells mini nukes, i need someone to confirm this. and if there aren't any vendors that sell mini nukes i only ask why?

IIRC there are 18-20 Mini-nukes in Fallout:New Vegas, kind of a shame, but kind of ridiculous since Obsidian nerfed the Fatman BADLY.

All guns have been nerfed IMO, except the old style western guns of course...

I can't help but find it funny the people who defend the OP guns opposed the OP fatman. Apparently a brush gun and M1 killing anything in one clip before mandatory reload is acceptable, but a fatman is 'too powerful'.

If you need nukes, go to the boomer's farm. A boomer will have 3 nukes and a fatman every few days. Sneak attack kill them.

You think Mini-Nukes are rare, there are only THREE Holy Frag Grenades in the whole game... I'm mad Obsidian nerfed gamesas's best weapon and made it's ammo almost unobtainable. I saved two mini-nukes to kill Caesar's cronies by luring them out of his tent into a trap after I put a sneak attack .308 JSP into his head. Rest of the time I use a modded Sniper Rifle and/or .50BMG Anti-Materiel Rifle as my ultimate weapons.

The HHGs are a WW reference to Monty Python and the Holy Grail, in the 'generic' game it's one mini-nuke in it's place.

I hate how only the old Western style guns are good. DT messed up all the fighting in NV. It's pointless to own any automatic weapons because everyone's DT is too high to damage. And sorry, a .44 slug is not going to hurt someone more than a frag grenade literally in their pants. I really didn't enjoy the fighting in NV. Too much to think about. Not to mention, logically, if I drink antivenom, it would be active for longer than immediate use. I get poisoned, pop antivenom, then instantly get poisoned again? Blah! Everyone said Bethesda messed up Fo3, but Obsidian really butchered FoNV.

yes that is quite depressing and they didnt Nerf it pssshhhh. THEY BUTCHERED IT. like seriously in F3 it did no lie like 1000 damage depending on your level, Condition of your gun, and skills. And now it doesl ike 300 damage more or less thats just a joke.

According to what i have seen, without mods or cheats, there is 68 mini nukes in New Vegas, i could be wrong, but hey maybe in the Mojave, as it is on the West Coast, they has more of a use of them on the Alaskan Front line, so less Mini Nukes, and lack of a MIRV as well. Too bad, i love the Fat Man, and it's Little Boy Mod as well.

There are nowhere near 68, unless you spend 60 game days farming the Boomer with the fartman for them.

This was one of my most anticipated weapons in the game. After fighting off deathclaws for two hours, I finally got the one in the quarry. I decided to use a mini nuke on a deathclaw to see him go flying into pieces. I shot, and was major upsett to see the deathclaw still running at me, and it's health only down about a quarter of the way. What a let down. Seems like Obsidian isn't into energy, or big gun type weapons.

Implying Archimedes and the B-52 aren't in that category. :spotted owl:

Lol. Most people (especially us men) can never have to much, or too big of firepower. Yeah, you don't use it on every single creature. But the few times you want to see something going flying across the wastes in a glorified mist (well...in FO3 anyway) they are fabulous.

I only used the Fat Man in FO3 a couple of times. Terrible Accuracy was the main reason. I played with the MIRV a couple of times but this weapon never appealed to me as a main line weapon. More something to have a bit of fun with, like the Mini Gun is.

However, since the damage on the Mini Nuke is so low in this game, I see no reason to use this weapon over a Missle Launcher which has better range and power. In fact, the missle launcher was a better weapon in FO3 too. Maybe not as much fun, but better for getting the job done.

Zing! (But it's a B-29 :whisper:)

Fatman was useful in Fallout 3 against the Broken (steel) monsters especially Overlords as they usually had a mini-nuke in their loot. And who doesn't like (virtual) nuclear explosions? There's no enemy nor group large enough in New Vegas to justify lugging a Fat Man around, even if it was useful.

It was mentioned in a FO3 developer chat or video that the purpose of the Fat Man was simply to be a "get out of jail free" card. If the going got too tough, you could fire ze missile and move on.
There isn't really any situations in standard NV where that's needed so that might be why there's few mini nukes around.

Yes, he respawns every few days. You can tell it's him bc he has a fatman hanging on his back.

obsidian isn't into the fantasy apsect of the game, they want everything to be "believable" well to me thats boring and dull, to try and make everything "believable", bethesda is better at the fantasy aspects of the game. so i'm looking forward to FO4.

Thats what I meant, thats the only time I've heard anything other than 'B-52' yet I've never seen a B-52, brb reading the wiki on one. (I love the B-29, that things a beaut)

I agree, I just take the Fat Man and put it on display in my suite. xD
