If they notice they'll warn you once, and then call the guards the next time. Also your companions may get pissed and leave the party forever.


If you're not wearing gloves, and pick some up, yes it will equip itself. (just an example) Access your bags by double-clicking on the Avatar, or if you're using Exult then turn on the status bar and double-click the character's portrait.

You also lose karma, which is important to keep up with the Virtues.

Not in Ultima VII, where the virtues are all but abandoned and everyone follows The Fellowship instead.

How do I open locked chests? I know this key is for one of them and I've tried equipping it but that doesn't seem to work.

Double click the key, and then click the chest. Or do the same with a lockpick if there is no key.

Or if you're really desperate, go into combat mode and just keep attacking it until it breaks. :twirl:

Lock bashing. The lost art of getting that bloody thing open. ^_^

Anyway, if anyone has problems running U7: Just use http://exult.sourceforge.net/. It can even give you the handy improvements from Serpent Isle to play with in Black Gate.

I'll have to go back there on another playthrough, so far this game is a blast.
