Is ultimate edition on ps3, more, less or equally stable as

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 2:43 am

F3 goty on ps3 was good up until around 80 hours, where it got really laggy and crashed a lot. How does FNV:UE compare?

Is it any worse than skyrim was pre-patch?

It's hard to say OP, the game affects different users in different ways.

I would imagine its the same as F3 and Skyrim thanks to the way the PS3 splits its memory.

PS3 aint so bad, playing on it and it works fine. Although if u play too much it tends to lag or frezee, but that just reminds me to get outside and live in the real world (not saying i want too, butttt)

I would say that it's better than FO3GOTY. But that's only because FO3GOTY was so buggy that it was almost unplayable. I couldn't even see the ending to Broken Steel because it froze up after you get off the helicoptor every time.

The thing is, if you play FONV:UE for several hours straight, it gets really laggy to the point where you can't play it anymore. Like someone else said, it's actually kinda nice because the game reminds you to go live your life. You can get up and restart it, and I think that usually helps the problem go away, but by then I just say F it and go do something else. It usually happens around a point where it would be a good place to stop, too.

But yeah, it's pretty bad.

Best to avoid it if you can.

A lot of people have said the UE got better and I think most people with problems will report they can only manage the base game and two DLC visits, which isn't TOO bad, but yeah, some people find it absolutely unplayable.

so the problem is more about extended play sessions (3+ hours) rather a profoundly broken game. F3goty was not too bad, the problems for me came after an 80+ hour save file. Up until then it ran fine. FNVUE sounds pretty much the same so I might pick it up.

Fallout 3 GOTY: Freezes
Fallout NV UE: intense lag

At least NV lets you save before you have to quit the game...

I picked up NV ultimate edition (PS3) today and went straight in with an old level 30 save to make use of the extended level cap. I start clearing up some missions i left anging for some easy ex p and run straight into this memory sink bull.

I get to looking this up on the web and find ejits talking about a 3-5hr imposed game cap being a good thing!

It took less than 3 to get unplayable for me but regardless, when did people start wheeling out pathetic excuses for getting rolled by lazy programmers peddelling dodgy code instead of knashing and wailing about the dam lack of support for an established platform and a suspect product being put on the market.

Not even rushed out. These DLCs have been downloadable for a while and each ones (documented) dribbling contribution to the problem is compounded in this 'Ultimate' edition.

How the hell did this product get the all clear for shop retail sale without the previso of a patch that made the game playable throughout, from beginning to END?

That the problem becomes apparent only after prolonged play/increased save file size is no excuse in a game of this type. It dosent come about because of game braking showboating by would be game testing fandans but becomes apparent well within the natural course of the game.

At the very least if a working patch is too much to ask from a publisher that has now had my money twice then surely the developer could have included a GUI console from which individual DLCs could have been selected/deslected from installing instead of blind automatic installation. Maybe limiting the severity of the problem.

Its a dam shame as I never had any problem with New Vegas and if I had left it at that I would only ever had had good things to say about it and those involved in making it.

Does anyone know if the Ultimate Edition comes with all the patches on the disc or do you need an internet connection to make it work?

I am thinking about getting it for my Xbox which is in a location without an internet connection and I would rather not have to worry about disconnecting the Xbox, finding a place to hook it up with an internet connection and then reconnecting everything back home just to get a patch.

I would assume that the Ultimate Edition comes with the latest patch, but knowing Bethesda as well as I do, I don't take stuff like that for granted and I could not find any definitive answer on that after doing several Google searches.
