My Ultimate Fallout New Vegas Review

Post » Tue Jan 26, 2010 3:30 am

A lot of people seem to argue that MW2 is an FPS and as such can't be compared to an RPG. That argument is wrong. Combat in Fallout is a huge part of the game and could seriously improve by taking tips from MW2. Running in Fallout feels like skating, you move ever so awkwardly, in MW2 you move smoothly and it's very easy to get used to it. Fallout tries to mimic FPS games but compromises in the wrong places resulting in awkward combat. Some random enemies like giant radscorpions have insane amounts of health while some big bad bosses of the game drop from one good headshot. Enemies jerk around awkwardly randomly making them hard to hit at times, but most of the time they just run directly at you. Where's the difficulty when they should be taking cover and trying to flank you? I can understand super mutants rushing you straight forward but humans would never fight like that.

Your a moron, shooting is the only gameplay mechanic ha,s and its point and shoot, takes no skill, FALLOUT is an rpg, look it up, its shooting is based on Character stats, not twitch skills. RPG's are totally differnt fundamentally. COD is a casual shooter where every gun is the same, any 5 year old can pick up and play easily. try playing ARMA II and then see how casual, noobish COD is. COD is popular because its easy, for the mass market. takes No skill. No ballistics, recoil, no realistic handling of weaponms, doesn't even have lean, LMAO. For a game thats ALL about shooting, its does the bare minumum AND is dumbed down so activision can sell lots of copies.

fallout is stat based, and for ROLE playing, not point and shoot for dummies. You have zero clue what you are talking about. Go back to playing your kids shooter, and asking mommy for 15 bucks for 3 recycled maps.

Did you say that you dropped the end bosses in one shot??

I don't know about you but I know it took me multiple tries to defeat the Legate who can definitely not be dropped by one headshot... or five.

Dude is lying and a troll. On hardcoe and hard, the game is ten times harder the COD on hard. COD you dont have to worry about being crippled, you automatically heal, the game has massive Auto Aim. He prob played on easy, impossible to down a death claw in one shot even on easy. He is a COD troll, they are not too bright.

The Beginning of vegas is much better IMO , the f03 beginning was way too slow, dragged oiut. The mystery and harshness of the wasteland is captured perfectly in vegas. Most reviews said the beginning is better. 3 does nothing better then vegas.

RPG players should start reviewing shooters like MW2 and complain about the lack of character development, map sizes and loot.

I shotted him in the head with the Anti-Material rifle. He ran at me after that and started a scripted conversation after which I shot him in the head again killing him. The whole thing felt incredibly stupid and lame.

Your lame and a lier. COD is crap for the casual masses. There is a reason its usually 10-12 year olds always asking about black ops at the game store.

You get shot in the head, wake up two weeks later just fine. How many people in real life would go on a hunt killing hundred men to get revenge? Yeah, not really anyone.

And I suppose you are saying then that it is very possible for anyone to become a special operative and kill over 200 enemies without even getting a scratch in the process?

Just gonna copy & paste what i posted on ur review on ytube.

So you compare mw2 with fallout nv and still complain about difficulty ? lol mw2 is the biggest noob casual shooter out there with it's one shot kills when u hit someone in their big toe, overpowered abilities, aim assist, ect...
Exactly why so many people love it, because they think they are good players..that's how easy it is... mw2 is the WoW of FPS games...
Not to mention this review was probably made on very easy difficulty hence all the one shot kills out of stealth...

The whole story of Vegas makes no sense. A courier, out of all things, gets shot in the head and walks away from it in tip top condition. That means he's going to try and take over Mojave. Where's the logic in that? A courier would just let it be, he wouldn't try to take on some powerful guy with plenty of bodyguards to get revenge. Fallout 3's main plot made much more sense in that regard that you got forced out and you're just trying to find your dad again.

HUH? name one thing done better in fallout 3? Vegas is a far superior RPG in every way, in design, story, mechanics. Fallout 3 is an overrated game just like olivion was. Vegas is the only fallout game since 2. 3 was a joke of an RPG like almost all bethesda rpg's. Vegas puts the ROLE back in Role playing game.

Fallout 3 is the worst fallout of the series.

If it wasnt for FO3 u wouldnt hav NV... Bethesda hater is obvious. FO3 did one thing better than new vegas and thats exploration. in FO3 u can go where ever u want as soon as ur out of the vault but in NV u hav to level up before goin other places outside the main quest. but i do enjoy NV alot more than FO3.

Your complaning because you killed the main bad guy with 2 shots from the strongest gun in the game? Wow. Thats like saying (Based on your perspective) but in MW2 I killed the last bad guy with two shots from an AT4! LAME. Also its not exactly the main bad guy that is hard to shoot, its the 400 henchmen he sends at you right before that. I sided with Legion and it was a b*tch to kill all the guys in power armor leading up to General Oliver. But Oliver himself died pretty fast.

How does that even matter? That doesnt change the fact vegas is much better Fallout 3. As fo exploration, its supposed to take some levelling before you can go wordl beater everywhere, 3 was [censored] like that, not much rpg really. too easy, no proper progression. You should get killed at first, only to come back after you are more powerful, its called progression, another thing vegas does better.

Clean up time.

Edit: Sorry OP but this is staying closed. The number of rude and flaming replies makes it not worth reopening.
