Umaril's Plan?

Hey that other post of yours was really good and made a ton of sense considering the mercurial nature of divinities. However Umaril couldn't have been the last Aylied nor even last King. Firstly, Pelial was torn apart by Umaril's Aylied cohorts after he killed Umaril. Secondly, as was shown in the "Collector Quest" finale, there were many Aylied kingdoms and possibly many "last" Aylied kings.

And, yet, Umaril is alive and well in the 3rd era. At least until you kill him. ;)

Re-consider my meaning when I refer to him as the LAST ayleid king.

For the record, Pelinal only thought he killed Umaril.

I'm aware of the Collector Quest thing. I fully understand the lack of unity in the Ayleid nations. I think you were taking my post a little too literally. I was merely referring to the fact that, in chronology, Umaril's death (not the faux death, the real one the CoC gives him) comes last, as far as Ayleid obituaries are concerned. That's what is meant when he is referred to as the LAST.

Ah I see what you mean. I was talking merely about living as flesh on Tamriel as opposed to living as spirit in Oblivion. Then again, being alive can get iffy in Elder Scrolls, what with Liches, Daedra etc.

Hairdo: Umaril was a bonafide Dadera worshiper. As in, not a typical Ayleid. He didn't care about the Aedra at all.

I'm assuming all the Sorceror Kings who dwelled at White Gold Tower were the same?

If I recall Alessia let many of the less "Evil" Ayleid kingdoms remain after the Empire was formed. Is it possible these were the Aedra worshipers?

There was also a statue of Meridia at the statue near those ruins in Sideways Cave. In other lore, the Ayleids built a city around the Nefarivigum to prevent Daedra worshippers from making a pilgrimage or trying to retrieve the Razor. And given that the Nedes had Ayleid support when the tower was besieged, I wouldn't put it past the possibility that many Ayleids (for whom Aedra worship seemed most common) didn't like the idea of worshipping/working with Daedra.

They could have also been opportunistic, or would rather be alive than dead and defiled.
