Umbra retuning?

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 10:46 pm

I don't know if there have been a thread about this before, but as far as I know umbra had a role in the Infernal City novel. I don't know exactly what happened to umbra, but is there a chance that it might return? And if it return would you have it as a one-handed or two-handed version?

100% A 2-Hander, when I think of Umbra I think power, and I don't think dualwielding with Umbra would feel right

Umbra may return, yes. There's nothing to say it won't. I've never read The Infernal City, but I doubt it's appearance in the novel will affect it's possible appearance in Skyrim.

Umbra is a one-handed weapon.

The return of Umbra seems something very probable.

Eheheh... My memory fails me. I had a hunch it may have been, but I didn't say because I didn't want to look like a fool. Oh, the irony.

I have a feeling it will return.

And if we are to believe the combat skills are now just one-hand and two-hand instead of blade and blunt, then why not have it just take the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Shivering:Shadowrend approach? Have it be one or two handed depending on which skill is higher.

I'd like it to return, and 1 handed. To me Umbra
is more Umbra like when it's 1 handed. :D

Umbra may return, or it may be destroyed. We have yet to find out it's fate.

Personally, I'd prefer the Ice blade of the Monarch or Chrysamere over the noob drool forged Umbra.

Hell yea, that blade was my all-time favourite in Morrowind ^^

2-handed GO GO GO!
And add a COOL quest to it as Morrowind had! It was such a sad story!

I believe "umbra" means "shadow" in Latin.

Hmm. I guess I'm not too concerned with the reappearance of the weapon, but like I said in an earlier thread with this very same subject, I doubt it will be included in the game. But of course, it all hinges on the contents of the second book, which comes out this year.

Yarr, ice blade. Perfect for an environment where half the people are immune to frost!

Only if it makes sense, given the context of what happens in the second novel (which has not been released yet).

all that was said in the infernal city is that Umbra was thrown into an oblivion gate and it closed, there are other ways to get back into Oblivion

I hope we see Umbra again, it's a TES staple at this point. Two-hander please; Umbra's supposed to be a big badass sword.

I see we got an Oblivion player here  I prefer Umbra as a two handed weapon and I would love to see it return. I think it would be fun to be able to do a fairly large quest where we're set out on a hunt for finding the sword, but maybe we won't be able to find it because it's been destroyed or something. It would be nice with a small twist :)
