Thanks. There wasn't much there except talk to NPC's.... It wasn't the "Lhotun's Brother" quest..... I am a a random temple quest. I am supposed to exorcise a "well dressed" kid. Turns out that I was scammed and the crooks are hiding out in "Zanderat's House". I am supposed to retrieve the holy relic used for the "exorcism".

So it's a bug and basically I think I have to fail the quest, because there is no Zanderat's house to go to,.........................

** minor spoiler **

Not for nothing, but I just got that quest from Arkay this weekend, and I couldn't finish it because the Daedra never appeared. The kid disappeared with the relic (for protection), but the possessive spirit never showed. I waited.. After reloading a save a couple of times, I just gave up & took a different quest..

** end minor spoiler **

(DOSBox 0.72, btw .. It's been working for me since I installed it, so I just haven't bothered to update)

Oddly, I've also been losing swords in-dungeon and this is NOT to the old (wagon) issue, as they are not in my wagon when I next visit the dungeon entrance.. Dunno what's up with that, but I had a mace enchanted with Orc Strength I was using to extend my looting between dump trips, and sometimes when re-equipping the sword, it just wouldn't be in my hand, I'd see the mace was still there, the sword wasn't in my inventory, & never showed up in my wagon (or on the ground, for that matter). It didn't seem to happen when equipping a bow for sniping, and since the mace of Orc Strength finally "broke" on me, doesn't seem to be going on anymore.. Lost several Daedric long swords in the process, though, dammit!

MRNot, that sounds odd. Occasionally my wagon develops a "hidden second page" of inventory items, items which won't appear in the wagon unless I empty all of the stuff I can see stored, or opening the wagon at a shop.

Sometimes, the kid ends up being a fake and steals the relic. You have to go hunt down the guardian to get the relic back.

I did go "talk" to him again, but clicking brought no response (much like the quest giver, obviously showing something was incomplete or otherwise hosed)..

Well, I've been to a shop to dump that load, and I still haven't seen the swords in there, but then again, I may have ONLY looked in the wagon while "selling," which means I would have only seen what the merchant would buy.. I'll take another look.

Right. That is what happened to me. Except that he fled to the non-existent "Zanderat's House"........

As far as I know the daedra doesnt spawn if the possession is real, meaning you cant kill it and finish the quest. The quest itself is just bugged

Anyone successfully finish this quest? If so, do you think they would have fled to the same location in my game?

I've completed it both ways - both fake and real. Sorry, there's no way now of getting to them, unless you own a house in that town, in which case they will be there. The second house that they've fled to is a random location in the town. It's a common glitch with both Temple and, occasionally, innkeeper quests. The best way I found to avoid it is to take Temple Quests in a country that has your Temple as its patron - then you can go to a shrine to get your quest, which is basically just a temple and a few houses. This cuts down your possibility of getting the 'your house' glitch.

Remember tho, there's a very easy way to avoid it. If you're finding this particular quest annoying and or buggy then you can just keep asking for a quest till you get one you want. After a while you can soon start to recognise a quest from the original blurb the giver comes out with. I learned this during my 'sick of buggy endless dungeons filled with undrownable orc warlords' phase... works with both Fighters, Mages and Temples, also Knightly Orders. Doesn't work with nobles, Kings, Innkeepers. Give it a go, unless I'm preaching to the converted.

ARGH! Just got this quest from the Temple of Arkay again, and THIS time, I went from the guardian, to the kid, THEN to the exorcist. When I went back to the kid with the artifact, I got no response whatsoever from clicking on him. I then went to the guardian and got no response there. I guess I just won't be accepting this quest with this character, period. Who knows why it leeps getting hosed?

"Your House" if I'm not mistaken is the one you'd be given in town by the local knight order when attaining sufficient rank.

It isn't inexistent, it's just pretty hard to find if you haven't been awarded it because of not having risen enough yet, or having gone with another order.

Have you tried asking around town ? I don't know if any dialogue entries about the place or the persons you're after appear in that quest and case but maybe they do.

Most definitely a bug. I have done no quests nor purchases to get a house. In reading the responses here and in other threads, this is known bug.
