Ummm.....I may have somehow....

Post » Mon Sep 27, 2010 11:03 pm

I play on PC and while I was playing DM I may have blown my head off without realizing it.

Ok, ok, I used "TDM" to get the 37 gold bars. And probably blew my head off.

I've been wondering why I am constantly popping stimpacks otherwise I'll die and have come to the conclusion that it's probably in my excitement of running out of the Sierra Madre with the gold bars I didn't realize my head went pop.

I've been playing like this for a while and hadn't put two and two together until just last night when I was in HH and died because I ran out of stimpacks.

What I want to know is, is there a console command to reset my health?
I know about the "resethealthplayer" console command but it's temporary. Is there another command one can use to fix a screw up? I'm trying to avoid having to reload back to the vault. I've done so much between the vault and HH. I went to the fort and blew Benny's head off and stuff...if not....

Wait...

Are you saying that you're walking around with no head in game right now?

If so, you better not get rid of that.

Just turn it into a headless-horseman RP and go head-hunting.

That's freakin' awesome.

Well, having no head would be awesome. But no, since I was cheating to get the gold out I didn't hear the collar explode I was too busy running. When I go into 3rd person view my head is still there though. I just noticed that I lose HP slowly. It creeps down and if I don't keep popping stims I die. I tried to go to a doctor to have my head sewn back on, so to speak but it still doesn't work. But since I'm in HH now and I haven't necessarily found anything to heal me like stims do I'm kind of stuck since running out of stims.

If there is no way to reset my characters HP through the console so it stops going down it might be cool to RP as someone with a disease that kills me quite rapidly. Kind of like that movie with Jason Statham (sp?) where he has to constantly do stuff to keep his heart going. But I need to find a pretty steady supply of stimpacks in Zion, since it only takes about 30 seconds for my hp to hit zero.

That's really, really strange. Have you checked your effects screen to make sure it's not poison or something? Because I really don't think the DM exploding collar works like that.

Dont think poisen would last that long.

Too bad about the whole "having a head," thing.

@ CPL Facehugger, Yeah, I have. It shows all my limbs at 100% but I have a sad face and "X"'s on my eyes. I'm assuming its from DM when I tried to escape. I had a doctor heal my radiation and stuff but to no affect.

@TheChosenOne, yeah, it definitely would have been cool if my head was gone and I was able to play.

You know though, thinking to poison sometimes I hear that sound like I'm being attacked by Cazadores but I see none. Maybe I have been poisoned but I doubt it.

you can't have that much hours in game since you need a constant suply of stim to keep alive i best guess is for you to reload before the cheat

If you keep getting that sound then yeah, you may be poisened.

Get some anti-vemon- there's loads of it in Zion, called "datura antivenom," I think.

Really didn't think it lasts that long though.

According to Steam I've got 68 hours since I've left DM and went back to the Mojave before I went into Zion. Cause just before I went to Zion I put Steam into "offline" mode and I've got about 4 hours on top of the 68 in HH.

My total play time is around 200 hours (I'm slow and tend to lurk around areas for a good long while).

Before I went into Zion I had 200+ stimpacks. I dumped more than 90% of them in a cabinet in the Lucky 38 thinking I'd find some in Zion but since then no luck. I went into HH with 18 stimpacks. I've used all of them and have only found 2 thus far.

I've been using that, but it hasn't stopped my HP from going down. It does temporarily but it's effects are shorter than a stimpack.

Well, stimpacks restore health, antivemon cures poisen.

I'm not even sure anymore, sounds like your Couriers got some serious medical problems.

Here is a thought...I once had a Cazadore stuck under my feet after I jumped on it from a cliff. I could not shoot or kill it in any way and I was not able to run away from it, it was like it was glued to my feet. I was forced to reload after a while. Anyway that thing kept hitting me somehow. You could have something like that going on.

I think we need more information to properly help you. Also when you use god-mode to cheat in DM, and your collar explodes, usually the game objects (like door transitions) cease to function making that part of the game difficult to finish. If you did get poisoned while you were cheating you still have to take antivenom to clear your status before you cancel the cheat mode. The best thing for you to do is to load a save prior to your current problem. HH will be there no worries. Although your situation does create an exciting method of play. Try to go for ranger stations and the Survivalist's caches. There are usually stimpaks in those places. Also a couple of the NPCs are doctors they might be able to clear your character's status. Good luck.

I'm so not reloading back to before I had this issue. I swear it started happening when I was doing DM. I'd rather RP a character that has some serious medical issues. I was RPing as an outcast of the NCR so...I could probably change it up to a Discharged soldier from the NCR for medical reasons. Whom is now a soldier of fortune but still friendly to the NCR as well as "playing" the Legion for his own gains. It does however make the RPing interesting as I need to find medical supplies to keep myself from dying.

Like I wrote before try to find those ranger stations in the high places on the map (beware of giant cazadores). At least one of the major NPCs is a doc. Also, for some reason, the White Legs will have stimpaks. I hope your current character survives. Don't give up.

Try pulling down the console and typing, "PLAYER.RESETHEALTH".

That might work.

Also you are awesome.

Thank you. I'll give that a try. I did use the other reset health code but like I said it only temporarily fixed my issue.

And, thanks on the awesomeness. Same can be said for you and everyone else at Bethesda and Obsidian for making such kick ass games.
