Unable to complete some Quests

Post » Thu Jan 14, 2016 8:55 am

In the PC version of Fallout 4 I have some issues with not being able to complete some quests.

1) In the Old Guns quest, once I have constructed the artillery I have to 'assign' someone to it. I do not get the 'assign' option showing up in the menu at the bottom of the screen, so I am unable to do that, which would let me complete the quest.

2) In the Good Neighbour quest where you need to give the medicine to Daisy to cure here ailment, I do not have an option to give the medicine to her. When I try to speak to her all she does is thank me for taking the books to the library and such, but there is never any option that shows up to give here the medicine and complete that quest.

3) Also in Good Neighbour I cannot 'talk' to McCready. I was able to originally but shortly thereafter 2 guys came into the office and since then I cannot get any conversation started, plus I dont know what I am supposed to be saying to him anyway.

4) In the Molecular Level after I have setup the signal generator etc I dont get any final options to go and stand on the signal generator thingy, and no one comes up to run the control box. there are no options available to go get anyone either, so now I am stuck as I cannot get into the Institute to continue that quest, which would likely take me further into the game. Has anyone found a cheat to get past any of these issues? Does anyone else have similar issues or am I the only person out of thousands of PC players that has this issue..... I doubt it.

This is not a PC issue. I have Windows 7 with a quad core i7 processor with 32 Gb ram and a Titan X video card with 12 Gb ram on it. This should be a bullet proof PC for gaming. I think these problems that i have listed must be some sort of bug in the game.

The cure you're supposed to take to Daisy is part of MacCready's personal quest. You need him with you to trigger it, so it sounds like 2 & 3 are related.

I'm not sure I understand number 3 though -- it sounds like you're having trouble recruiting him, but the issue with 2 would require you to have had him as a companion to get his quest?

These don't sound like any reported bugs - more like figuring out what to do.

For your first item, after you construct the artillery, stay in construction mode.

Find a free settler that lets you use the "command" button. Not all do.

Once that works, you should be able to target the artillery piece (still in construct mode), and "Assign" should be available.

The inset red man turns green when the settler is assigned.

Hi Unable - yes I am sure that #2 & #3 are connected somehow, but I cannot get an option to command McCready any more after doing his request. All the options on the quest screen are checked off except give the medicine to Daisy..... McCready has 2 goons in his office that have been there ever since. I cant talk to them either and they wont go away. i even tried shooting them, but that didn't go well.... :sadvaultboy:

I'm not concerned about this quest, i would just like to complete it to get if off my list of things to do....

Thanks for the reply.

RMM200 - I'll have to try that, as I have only tried to assign that task to the minute man that got me to do it in the first place, so maybe another body might work. Thanks for the tip.

Are they named NPCs?

Seems weird because it sounds exactly like what happens when you first recruit him. But at this point in his quest, they should both be dead.

You already went through hiring him and taking out the two gunners on the highway with him?
