Unable to get dialog options with dog / god

I recruited all three companions. I am not able to talk to Dog/God. I hit Talk on the companion wheel and he just says something about letting Dog out because he's hungry. I can't dismiss him to hire someone else, and I can't talk to Elijah about having recruited all three. I have since saved a few times, and my [censored] self didn't think to keep one from BEFORE going into the BoS bunker.. Now, I'm stuck in the Villa, I have explored the whole damn thing, and I can not get rid of Dog.
Elijah won't even acknowlege that I have all three companions: "What are you doing back here?" I don't have any Dead Money quests because I already got all three companions, but I can't leave the Villa because it's not detecting that I have them all or something. I wondered around it all, even going back to the police station to try and trigger something to fix it; didn't work. I think I'm just going to have to accept that this file is now worthless and hope that it doesn't happen on my next one.

im having the same issue,ALSO i cant loot deans hidden suit cases and search dead ghost cratures and there is a also one of those playing cards in the fountain where Elijahs hologram is which as you might of already guessed i cant interact with ! good job obsidian

yep exactly the same as you, can't pick up from dead ghosts, etc.
so signs of a fix?

We'll look into it. First, can you guys go into the game settings and let us know what version you see?

From the title screen, select Settings, then Display. From there, you should see a version # in the bottom left corner. Let us know what that reads.

not at home atm but it should be the latest update from steam when i installed the dlc
are there any commands to force a npc to stop being a companion for a temp fix?

That version number is incompatible with Dead Money. Latest patch on Steam is 1.2.0.352 -- Steam automatically makes you grab this to be able to play the game.

If you're in offline mode, connect to Steam and download the latest version to play the DLC.

my steam version of new vegas is up to date. i can now loot things from dead ghost bodies and pich through those secret stash's but still can't get a dialog option with dog/good =((((
are you sure there isn't a console command to force a companion to leave you?

oh, btw here is the version number of my game to show it is up to date. i haven't saved to any previous state so i can't just restart back to the dlc =((((
starting to think this was a waste of $10

Hello,

i have the same Problems with this quest. I have choosed God as an Companion, brought Christine an Dean at their places and now Dog is standing at the fountain and yells at me that he is hungry.
My Game is up to date. And the playing of the tapes brings no result

I also tried some workarounds to force Dog to work together.

1. I killed / resurrect him via console - no result

2. I move him per force via console to the switches - now he starts a dialog - when i comand him to stay at switches he says that he is hungry and want to eat quitly and need to find his master - than he run to the fountain

- at this point i didnt find a harvester how drops the meat to feed dog? (i also tried to ressurect some of them)

3. i looked the door of the switch roome via console but dog gets stuck in his runnig animation

Please can you post the quest id - at least then i can complete this quest via QuestComplete
or else the reference id for the ghost harvester remains? I didnt want to wait till a new patch.

yeah had a look didn't have the quest id on the fallout wiki =/
any1 found any fixes for this yet? is there a way to force a companion to leave without dialog?

I heard one XBOX user had similar situation: 'Dog glitched and the game won't recognize that all 3 companions are at the fountain'. On the first two times: Dog was freed from the cage and the problem occurred and on the 3rd time God was freed and no problems. This what I heard, don't have XBOX or the DLC, so can't verify the information.

Hello again,

@Jassinlive: yes their is a command line option to force a npc to be your companion

prid 06001306 (in my case ref id for Dog)
setplayerteammate 0/1 (0 means no companion / 1 means he is your companion)

But: i have tried this too and he gona keep saying his hungry phrase - maybe it helps some off you.

Now i want gonna search myself fpr the quest id with geek - any suggestions how to easily find this reference ?

Didn't even think of the radroach one, will try it when i get home but it is worth a try. gl

I am also very frustrated, I cannot get further in the game pass episode 10 feeding dog . The dialogue that will allow me to feed him never shows up. It always stop after saying he is hungry and the exchange quit. I have try to restart from the beginning but still stuck at the same location. Please Bethesda help

Hey guys, since Admins and the internet seem to hold NO answers on how to fix this [censored] bug, allow me.

I had this same bug happen and could not find a way to fix it, I updated to the latest PC version and still it did not work, here's how I fixed it.

Reload from a save when you first get the quests to go find the collars. You should have all three quests active.

Go straight to the police station, get the audio log from the basemant, and turn off all the radios beside Dog's cell.

Play the audio log to begin the Dog dialogue.

*THIS IS WHERE YOU MUST GO PERFECTLY*

I do not recall the exact series of questions I answered, but I avoided the questions which required skills (medical, lockpick etc) until finally it said "Play audio", when I was prompted again, I had the option to let dog follow me, or send him back to the fountain.

YOU MUST SEND DOG BACK TO THE FOUNTAIN! DO NOT LET HIM FOLLOW YOU!!!!

If you've done it correctly, dog will run out of the cage, leave the station and run back to the fountain. If you've done it correctly, his quest should be completed and the next quest should automatically be active (collar 14, dean).

There you go, fixed. Once you go get the rest of the companions, head back to the fountain and everything will work. You may have to do the dialogue with dog a couple times before it allows you to just send him back to the fountain, I am not sure. I just finally got this to work after messing around for three hours. Whatever you do, don't let him follow you. Good luck!

1) fix Elijah's recognition skill :-)
open console and write these commands (it is not case sensitive)

set NVDLC01ElijahDialogue.bAct2Begin to 1
set NVDLC01Followers.bVeronicaDiscussedElijah to 1

Then try speaking to Elijah

Can you guys all confirm what version of the game you have

Go to settings, then display and in the lower left corner you should see a version #. Feel free to link to pics showing the version #.

As a translator I am playing a testing version on pre-release version 1.0.0.240 (I have also version bought on Steam but in our region the game has not yet been "DM-patched" - will be after translation of DM probably) so I am not about to complain about this bug :)

Hey smejki how do I "open console"...??? does this involve a screwdriver or can anybody do this?


I am having this exact same problem, I even started over with the order Veronica-Dean-Dog with Dean as my companion and Elijah still doesn't recognize them standing at the fountain. When I tell Dean to part ways he returns back to his hideout in the residential area.

i tried this approach by sending all them to the fountain and still elijah does not recognized the three characers i brought
